Fun, easy but thoughtful, and a fast read. If you know LeCarre, you can see exactly where this is going from page 3 and still can’t look away.

I have loved nearly all of his books. This one is fabulous. It feels like it's one of his best, but that's really hard to say. Maybe I always feel like that after finishing one. The author in his final years took to narrating his own audiobooks, and he does a superb job with this one. I will miss him terribly, but he's left a substantial set of novels for the re-reading in the future. In the case of this particular one, I started re-reading it almost immediately.

I liked it well enough in the beginning, actually found it quite amusing, but it just dragged into nothingness by the end.

Kept the pages turning. I particularly liked that the question of "can we rely on the narrator" was left unresolved for so long. I felt that there was a weak point regarding the reasons behind the initial meeting of narrator and a significant protagonist but overall an enjoyable read.
