I totally misjudged this one ... I thought prestigious boarding school where only one twin survives the manipulation, pranks and power would be the perfect binge read. How wrong I was because what I got was a story that used everything we’ve seen before
✔️ cool vs uncool students
✔️ unlikeable characters
✔️ bullying, manipulation
✔️ teacher/student sexual relationships
✔️ naive wife, untrustworthy husband
✔️ predicable twist
As the kids would say, ‘nuff said’

2.5/5
Okay so I rate this book a 2.5 bc although the story itself was interesting, the writing quality wasnt the best at times and, honestly, the second part of the book was pretty hard to get thru. There was a lot of repetition abt Rose at the murder scene which wasnt needed and just the way everything was handled afterwards didnt seem realistic? I dont think so anyways. Im not gonna get into it but it was rly irritating to read lol. There were also 3 characters that lost their memory at some point in the book which i feel is a bit lazy to certain extent. It felt like a way to make the book longer than it needed to be.
Also, every single character was annoying in their own way so i didn't necessarily root for anyone throughout the book which i think is an important factor. Like i had to take so many breaks bc it was a lot and it wasn't encouraging me to continue. Not to mention the statutory rape was pretty off-putting. It didnt make me like the book any less but it didnt make me like it any more either.
I did, however, like the epilogue, i thought that was fun and i honestly kind of forgot abt anonymouse so it was like a little surprise lol. I also liked having the interrogations go on as the book progressed, it gave us insight to the other students' point of views without spoiling anything. And again, the story was compelling enough to compensate for all the frustration the characters caused, and not knowing who was killed for most of the book def helped keep me engaged.
Overall, it reminded me of the show Euphoria which may be great for some ppl but i never ended up finishing the first season lol

The setting worked, the weak women did not. It was really hard to follow these women who were absolutely helpless at every turn. The female cop made it a little easier to stomach the terrible ending, but overall thumbs down to poorly written female characters.
Thank you to Net Galley for my complementary e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
My Synopsis: Bel and Rose Enright are twins, but they could not be more different. Rose loves academics and following the rules. Bel is a rebel and makes her own rules. After some changes in their family, the girls end up at the prestigious Odell Academy in New England. Bel falls in with an unsavory crowd and is pitted against her sister. Bel starts to idolize Heath, her advisor/teacher and the husband of Sarah, who Rose adores. As the story unfolds and a crime is trying to be solved, the reader starts questioning who can be trusted and who is out for themselves?
My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. I am a fan of books set at historic boarding schools/colleges, and I always love a fast paced thriller. I appreciated that the plot line was not predictable and I enjoyed the twists and turns. I liked the style of character development wherein we learned about some of the main characters little by little, with some very important information given towards the end of the book. I think this style added to the suspense and worked very well.

Lowkey hated everybody in this book; but I kept reading, even though it was entirely too long.
I have been waiting months to get my hands on this book and it definitely did not disappoint. In this story we are introduced to twin teenage girls, Rose and Bel, shortly after their mother has passed away from cancer and they had lost their father when they were much younger. Now being orphans, they are taken under the wing of their grandmother on their father’s side who comes from money. She immediately enrolls the girls in the prestigious boarding school Odell and sets them on their way.
Unfortunately, Odell does not work out well for either girl. The twins find themselves being pulled apart by their own unique personalities that differ significantly as they try to find friends and make a place for themselves. Bel is severely depressed over the loss of their mother, while Rose is content with focusing on her studies and doing well.
Through this depression, Bel begins associating with what others consider “negative” influences and this begins her trajectory into collapse. As the rivalry between these two sisters gets more dangerous and more personal, everyone at Odell is faced with a tragedy.
I enjoyed the characters of Rose and Bel – I was actually driven to uncomfortable anger at the feud between them, because as an older sister myself, I found it very hard to watch two sisters despise one another so openly. But it is realistically characterized from the perspective of 16 year old girls.
Two things that I found difficult to swallow were the characterizations of both Mr. and Mrs. Donovan. Not wanting to give away any of the juicy details behind the meat of this story, I’ll just say that both of them are overly consumed by their own preconceptions of how they should behave rather than feeling their own emotions. It is almost sickening to watch them unravel and discover the dark that lies within their relationship, while the world is happening around them. Mr. Donovan is a narcissistic pig and Mrs. Donovan only wants to be the perfect wife, regardless of how things make her feel.
This is a great summer read and I am thankful I was able to share my review with you! It officially releases on July 31, 2018 but you can pre order on Amazon now (link above)!

Rose and Bel Enright are twin sisters who couldn’t be more different. Bel feels vulnerable at her new prestigious boarding school, even with her sister by her side. She quickly falls into the wrong crowd, and begins to haze her sister, among other things, because of it. Rose turns to her dorm mother Sarah Donovan, one half of a couple who works at the school, and Bel turns to Sarah’s husband Heath, hoping he can help her out of a crisis. It seems that Heath may be taking advantage of Bel instead of helping her, though, and things get dicey. Full of twists and turns, Campbell will keep you guessing until the very end.
