If you were me, then I'd be you, and if I were you, then I'd hide somewhere far away.

This series is always a fun read and this book is no exception. Artemis is as always scheming and holly gets dragged in.

The third in the Artemis Fowl trilogy, and well done.

Likes: I was happy to see a bit of the old, devious Artemis. He's awesome, and smart, and the books are at their best when he's outsmarting the fairy folk. Plenty of twists and surprises to keep you guessing.

Dislikes: Butler's my favorite and I don't like anything to happen to him!!

A fun addition!

A great read. It makes for a natural stopping point in the series if you don’t want to continue.

I’ll definitely read the next in the series still. I’m immensely enjoying these.

2.5 ✨ this one was better than its two predecessors but I was aggravated by the mind wipe at the end. Artemis isn’t the most pleasing of characters and it irked me that any progress he made was reversed at the end.

In this installment, Artemis is trying to make a profit off some fairy technology, but things go wrong quickly, and he ends up having to team with fairy people to stop an unethical business man from wreaking havoc. The audiobook reader is wonderful, and this book has lots of humor and a very twisty plot with turns I didn't see coming.

Mr. Colfer's ability to weave intricate levels of subterfuge is truly masterful. The depths of Artemis Fowl's genius appear limitless, even as additional glimpses of emotion peek through his careful facade. Where some series tend to drift into a rut when it comes to primary, and even secondary, characters, Mr. Colfer takes great care to structure new dimensions with his cast, keeping them fresh with each turn. It's refreshing, especially in this particular genre. I will say the sudden references of the diary were confusing, especially as they didn't appear in previous volumes.
SpoilerWith the exception of the Epilogue, where at least an explanation was provided.
I understand the need to provide backstory and additional glimpses into Artemis's state of mind, but they felt choppy and out of place. As a whole, though, Mr. Colfer continues to deliver a delightful juvenile antihero.
