Mary Anne was never my fave because she was so sensitive and this book is all of the things I dislike about her...but, being an adult now, I can't help but think it's cute. Also her relationship with her dad is adorable.

These keep getting better and better. This one was very sweet. The conflicts felt reeaaaally minimal if at all but it was cute to see Mary Anne and Logan get together and to meet Jessi. I hope they give Jessi her own graphic novel turn though.

While packing my library, I came across a copy of this given to me by my childhood best friend as a wedding present. Naturally, I sat and read it. This was my absolute favorite series as a child, and I'm sure my mom has my falling apart copies still in her house somewhere. Anyways, the 4 stars is really just for the nostalgia aspect and remembering how much I loved it.

This one was really cute. I love Logan and Mary Ann, and the ways that the BSC supports Mary Ann as their friend. I read this one because I love this series, but I also wanted to see if I thought the 3rd grader that I work with would like it. This one, along with Boy-Crazy Stacey, focuses on romantic relationships with boys and the way that the girls' feelings toward the opposite sex are changing. As a 3rd grader, I'm sure I would have loved this because even at that age, I was interested in romance. But, for the 3rd grader I work with, these are not the right fit. These books are targeted at Middle Grades, even though the characters are older. I think romance can be a small part of middle grade books because I think at that age some kids are in the early stages of feeling some of those things. I don't think it should be the center though... and while I think these graphic novels are about more than boys (they are about teenage girls and their friendships and family relationships, and the struggles they face), I think they are starting to become more appropriate for jr/sr high ages.

I loved Mary Anne's character development in this book. (However, I think they should have changed the title to Mary Anne Likes Logan since most of the book was about how she liked him, and he liked her back.) It was a complex plot for a BSC book, and I enjoyed it!

so so cute. reminded me of my obsession with going to barnes and noble and reading graphic novels in one sitting instead of buying them :)) i really love how this book discussed anxiety in an indirect way, and it was something i could DEFINITELY relate to. also this book reminded me of why i NEVER want people to throw me a surprise bday party (thanks anxiety)

Reading in chronological order (with the exception of The Kids in Mrs Colman's Class series).

An extra star for nostalgia. Loved this series as a kid and re-reading it is giving me all the warm and fuzzies.

This was the very first BSC book I ever read, so by default, it remains my favorite. Mary Anne was my favorite babysitter when I was young, and Logan really is the shy girl's dream guy isn't he? I mean, who wouldn't want a guy who gives you endless chances when you're awkward and shy? Who wouldn't want to wear a cute skirt with cities and landmarks on it to a dance with the cute boy? Who wouldn't want to adopt a cute kitty for her thirteenth birthday?

How many times can I type the word "cute"?

I can't wait to listen to the BSCC podcast on this one.

This was such a cute installment with many lessons about trying things outside your comfort zone and respecting your friend’s’ boundaries. Cute cute cute.
