Lauren Blakely is one of my favorites and she continues to out do herself. I have been waiting for Grant & Declan’s story and so far it is more than I could have hoped for. I love these two and cannot wait to see where their story goes from here.

Oh Lauren! You snuck up on me with that CRAZY Cliffhanger so I IMMEDIATELY dove right into the next one! I'm so glad this story isn't over! I wanted more and when I saw I only had 30 minutes left in Declan and Grant, I wondered how this was going to wrap up. Apparently I have been living under a rock and had no idea this was a trilogy and not a series LOL.

Grant is in his rookie season and meets up with his idol and crush Declan on the first day of summer training for the MLB season. Just called up from the majors, Grant has a lot to prove. Declan and Grant are both determined to not get involved with each other, but Grant's sweet personality and sassy mouth make him irresistible to Declan. For Grant's part, he's had a longtime crush on Declan. The pair start out as friends and things quickly become heated. And I mean HOT. (PLUS with Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan narrating, this book is FIRE!)

I loved the dynamic between the 2 men, and the chemistry is off the charts! This was the beginning of a sweet, easy to listen to, and super steamy sports romance that I enjoyed from start to finish!

I was enjoying this book and then-bam-CLIFFHANGER! I don't care to read a duology unless I know that's what it is and I have both books available to me. A romance book, by definition, has a HEA. When a book ends like this one did, I'm immediately disappointed. All the feel-good feelings up to that point are gone.
Prior to the cliffhanger, this book was a solid 3.5 stars for me. I like the "we're fake dating but totally catching feelings" trope, and this book was delivering on that for me. The main characters had lots of chemistry, which is always a plus, but were also becoming emotionally invested. I really enjoyed that they were taking the time to get to know one another. Honestly, had the book ended on the hotel scene, this would have been a 3.5-4 star read. But, cliffie immediately made all those happy feels go away. I just cannot give a romance book that doesn't even have a Happily for Right Now anything more than 2 stars.

I struggled with how to rate this book, a 2-2.5 star is what I settled on. I don’t know if I will share my thoughts publicly or not. If I decide to I will edit this.

Ugh Jacob Morgan and Teddy Hamilton are my fave narrators. I want to read everything they narrate, especially if it's together.

As for the BOOK. I liked it. Not too much angst or drama or longing, which is what I live for. But the chemistry was there, the smut was good. I love baseball and there was actually a decent amount of baseball talk so I LOVED that. Also with the way it ended, I'm HOPEFUL there will be a lil more angst and drama in the second book!

Also bc this book series is called the Men Of Summer series, I legit CANNOT get Boys Of Summer (the Ataris version, sorry Don Henley) out of my head lol

The audiobook is narrated by my fucking kings, Jacob Morgan and Teddy Hamilton.

That's all I need to know.
