Cliff hanger

Boring and repetitive. How many times can you say a guy has trust issues in the first few pages? We get it.

S'ok, I guess.

I mean... There's some good dirty talk during the sexy times.

*shrugs*

I feel like I know how this whole series is going to go, and it probably doesn't need to take 400 pages (the length of this first installment) let alone THREE books to get there.

The story is predictable. The characters are predictable AND generic. And this whole "I can't be with a teammate" schtick is so manufactured I can't drum up any enthusiasm for it as a plot driver.

Another thing that is kinda irking me is that I can't tell the perspectives apart -- it feels exactly the same to be in Grant's head as it does Declan's.

The book is fine. The characters are fine. Everything's fine.

What a ride! Grant and Declan’s journey was emotional and scorching hot! Sports romance, baseball in particular, is my favorite genre and what a treat Lauren Blakely gave us- her baseball knowledge is apparent and adds so much to the story! Cannot wait for the conclusion to the story.

spring training, baseball players, 4x pro baller & a rookie, golden retriever man meets humble man, slight age gap, working out together, forbidden love, lessons in the bedroom, virgin mc.

SO MUCH PRIDE

this book was summery, spicy AF, the banter was all flirting, the men were eager as hell, the tension was there, and so were the feels. i hated the cliffhanger, but we got what we wanted before the end.

First Off: This is part of a trilogy in case you didn't realize it. I'm not sure how I missed it, but I was trying to figure out how things would wrap up so far into the book only for it to end on a sort of cliffhanger. That said I did enjoy this book once I got a couple of chapters in. The first two chapters didn't pull me in right away, so I almost dnf'd this book but eventually returned to it to give it more of a chance.
