WOW. The ending really wrapped up a lot of loose ends, but not all. I am hoping the Shaw chronicles will tie some of them up.

🜸 HOLY SHIT THE LAST BOOK WAS SO GOOD BUT THIS????? i hated the start of it, i had a really hard time getting into it but then shit got intense and i literally read like 3/4 of the book in two hours. oh my god. the connection with mara’s grandmother and noah’s mom is so insane, and the professor aka lukumi aka mara’s grandfather??????? like what the fuck. that’s so insane. it makes me kind of sad that mara is running away from her family and going off to college n stuff but i understand why she’s doing it. going through everything that she did is so difficult, i can’t even imagine what it must be like. i honestly kinda wish that mara and noah didn’t end up together. i think it would be the most bittersweet ending ever and just makes sense given the way that the story went. but their relationship is really special so at the same time i’m happy that they’re together still.

Full disclosure: I never actually finished this. I've tried to read [b:The Retribution of Mara Dyer|15768409|The Retribution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #3)|Michelle Hodkin|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1417969205s/15768409.jpg|21474467] twice now and both times I've just lost interest. First time round, I only got about 20 pages in because I was super confused over the flashbacks to India. However, after a second attempt I simply can't get through it. I got about 150 pages into the novel then put it down. And I didn't pick it back up. I don't think I will give this a third chance as I don't see myself suddenly being interested in it any time soon.
