...so for some reason it's been a while since I've read the first book.. and I have absolutely no idea why I decided to get back into this. It was meh and kind of disappointing.

Dragon's Triangle was ugh.. I just hated everything about it. Again, I was completely disappointed with this book. Maybe I'm just terrible at picking books lately because the last handful have been 3 stars or less.

The characters, story, plot - you name it, I despised it. There was zero to none development or anything that would keep my interest. Riley, one of the characters, was just annoying the crap out of me. I was honestly so frustrated that I almost considered opening a bottle of wine and drowning in my sorrows. Also, I would constantly pause the audio and go do something else. Thank god that I finally finished it while sitting in traffic today.

Spoiler alert: there was no traffic - but I did finish my book. Which means, I WAS VERY FREAKING HAPPY THIS MORNING.

Overall, I'm glad that it's done and over with. I have no idea if I want to punish myself with the next book this year.. or if I want to do that torture next year. Maybe I'll flip a coin. Maybe..

OK - so what do you get with a 90 yr old WW2 survivor who might be connected to multiple secret societies behind every single event in the modern world (after American Independence ofc), an obviously deranged one-dimensional villain and a noble heroine who will stick with the guy who pretended to be dead and still kept stalking her for a good 5 years? A thin book that you can read in a couple of days and forget the name of is what. But, worth a read I suppose - if for nothing else than to remind you of the glory days of reading pulp.

Not a great book. The storyline was somewhat interesting, but the characters were not developed, the dialogue was generic and the narration in general was tiresome, repetitive and boring. I really couldn't stand the villain, which was probably the point, but even he deserved more.

Suspenseful, action-packed reading, a bit predictable at times but still entertaining. I would have read it much quicker if we hadn't been so busy this past month. I liked the WWII history/cryptology background to the story and the flashbacks since it reminded me of "Cryptonomicon" but this book was a much easier/quicker read.

Started off strong. But you expect to get things explained in a timely manner, and you didn't get that. In fact, things got more confusing as you learned parts of what happened in the previous book (which I haven't read).

I got this book through goodreads giveaway. After I got that I noticed that it was a second in a series so I had to purchase the first one so that I could read that first.

This review may have some slight spoilers because there is a book before this one that will need to be read to understand kind of what is going on.

Maggie Riley (she goes by Riley) is a sailor who travels the work on her sailboat while working. In the first book "Circle of Bones" she runs into Cole a treasure hunter on a voyage looking for the remains of a sunken submarine. Adventure ensues and some tragedy happens and Maggie believes Cole is lost to her.

At the beginning of "Dragon's Triangle" Riley is still hopeful that Cole is still out there but she has started to move on with her life. Still traveling. She runs into some trouble and another treasure hunt that has some connection to her family falls upon her.

These kinds of books aren't usually the kinds of books that I read but I felt slightly obligated because I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. It was better than I thought it was going to be.

Dragon's Triangle by Christine Kling was my Kindle First choice for May. It was fast paced but the plot was cliched and convoluted and the character development distinctly lacking.

Good idea and decent execution but not an overall great read.

I received this book for free from Netgalley. I really, really wanted to like it. But I just can't get into it. I'm 43% of the way finished and have decided to give up. From the beginning, I felt as though I was missing important details. Finally, I realized this is the second book in a series. In addition, there are a number of parallel story lines, both in the past and present. I'm giving it 2 stars because it is not that the writing is poor, or the concept is lacking. This one just isn't right for me. There are too many books in the world that are waiting to be read. It's time to give up on Dragon's Triangle and move on.

Not a bad book, but also not a good one. I stopped halfway through, I confess, because I found myself just not interested. The characters are flaky, and the story jumps from place to pace, time to time, which required way more attention than I was willing to give.
