easily my favourite book in the series this far the ending was PEAK
Gah.....Totally in love with this series, struggling to understand why it took me so long to start reading it!
I flew through this second part of A Storm of Swords. I really didn't want to put it down - even reading through things like the red wedding!
I do think this book was the game changer, how many characters that were killed off - not only minor ones but huge characters that I could have seen surviving until the end.
I absolutely love this series, its fast moving, full of action. I can't wait to see what happens to the characters next - Bran is still travelling far and wide, Arya is going over the sea to Braavos, Sansa seems to be in a darker place than Kings Landing, Daenarys is becoming a conqueror, Jaime seems a different character, one that is becoming honorable and Davos continues his counsel with King Stannis despite his apparent hatred of Melisandre.
Eeeek Can't wait for a Feast for Crows.

“It all goes back and back... To our mothers and fathers and theirs before them. We are puppets dancing on the strings of those who came before us, and one day our own children will take up our strings and dance in our steads.”
I have not read many books so I don’t have much to go off, but nonetheless this is the best one I’ve had the pleasure of reading. from how the characters develop, to the twists and turns, and the potential that the book leaves for the rest of the series. Everything feels earned because they are. The proper time has been put into this series now for the deaths, motives and actions of each character to matter.
On the second part of this book, I loved every bit of the last 200 pages or so. The amount of watershed moments and jaw dropping scenes that are foreshadowed or lead on to in some way from the first half is just staggering. Witnessing Jaime’s shift and Tyrion’s revenge are some of the most satisfying parts of any book I have read. That’s not even mentioning the numerous other absolutely fantastic moments throughout. These including Jon becoming lord commander, Jaime freeing Brienne, Arya and the hound, and or the two absolutely phenomenal Littlefinger moments. Even things as small as Davos becoming the king’s hand or Gregor killing Oberyn end up being incredibly powerful.
I could gush over it forever but alas, it is not perfect. Daenerys had two moments of glory (these being her first ransacking of a city and letting Ser Jorah go), yet the rest of her story didn’t personally do much for me. Bran is still my least favourite main character but he is luckily given very few chapters in this compared to previous books. However those are my only complaints, the rest of this book is fairly flawless, I love most every second of it.
I will continue to be in denial of the Hound’s death. He ain’t dead and no one can tell me otherwise.

Best book in series so far, I wish I had read this before watching the show as I think I would’ve been like wtaf is going on but it was action packed and so many important events happened that I’m now scared to read the next 2 as I know I’ll be let down at the change of pace, wish I could just leave it here lol

it was so surprising how quickly happened when I think about it in relation to the show. I kind of feel like it was rushed in this, but then that might be because the last 3rd of this book took place over an entire season in the show?
