This book was pretty good!! There were a lot of twists and turns—some useful, some not. My favorite part about this book was the return of Ali/Courtney and the way Ali had begun to play each girl, getting them to trust her. I think the Courtney/Ali plotline was insanely rushed though, and didn’t make good use of the tension this situation was building. Additionally, the whole “Melissa is A?” plotline was pretty boring and predictable, as the reader could assume that Melissa ISN’T A. The death of Jenna started out as an interesting plot, as it revived the fear that there is a killer on the lose, but was almost immediately squashed by them “finding the killer,” which was immediately squashed again by them revealing that Billy ISN’T the killer. I think Jenna being murdered was insanely glazed over—like, this would be extremely traumatizing and life altering if someone is stalking you and then successfully murders your classmate! But instead, there was more dialogue on Hanna being a size zero or whatever and Aria stressing about Noel Kahn. I just think that Shepard introduced interesting plot lines but eventually squandered the potential tension of each of them. This is where less plot lines and a distinct focus would have benefited this book. Still, not bad, entertaining, but could’ve used some organization.

This was not so bad, although I could more or less guess what would happen. Yet, like all the other books, this one had me reading each word until the end. An okay ending to a good series.

This book was so good. This was definitely the best book in the series so far. The series could honestly have ended here so I am excited to see what the next 8 books will be about.
I loved every single storyline in this book. I thought all of the girls were enjoyable to follow. The A reveal was so good. The reasoning was a little weird, but I don’t care because this book was amazing.

Moderate: Bullying, Death, Murder, Fire/Fire injury, Gaslighting, Alcohol
Second read: March 2019
I think this is where I will cut off my re-read of the Pretty Little Liars series. It seems a fitting place to end at the end of the second arc, if you will. I marked this book down one star from the last time I read it because even though these are addictive reads, everyone in these books (with the exceptions of the villains) are complete idiots and keep doing stupid stuff. Also, the events of this book are really rushed. I think the reveal that happens in the beginning of this book, should have been revealed earlier on in the series, just so the 'game' could be dragged out more, and tension could have been built more.
