If I have any complaints at all about Fables, it's that we quickly get to the point where there are a lot of transitional stories. In this volume, the one significant plot moving the timeline forward is the three-part Arabian Nights arc. While we do get a spinoff arc for Jack and get the identity of the Adversary, the way this deluxe hardcover was set up didn't really create a good narrative separation.
Outside of that? Another solid entry. The Blue and Arabian arcs were great, with the Jack one the only stumble (even if I'm going to try those trades soon as well).

The weakest part of the book is the beginning with Jack.
I never really got into his story or his spin-off title, and the artwork is subpar, but just after that we get into the big stuff.
Boy Blue goes rogue and using the Witching Cloak and Vorpal Sword wreaks havoc in the Homelands, trying to get rid of the Emperor. He manages to do so, and finds out that Geppetto is the true power behind the throne, the Adversary.
One of the reasons I love him as the big bad guy is that his motivation is so well written. You can tell he is a truly good antagonist because he makes sense.
The second half of the book revolves around the Arabian fables, who have landed in Baghdad and are looking for allies in their fight against the Adversary's forces. Events are set in motion for the war to come.
One of the most entertaining books in the series.

Great stories and even greater art. If you like the TV show Once Upon a Time you'll enjoy this comic.

The first part was (for me) a reread of Homelands but the second part was new. Loved to see Sinbad in this volume, because his story was a favorite of mine when I was younger. It was a good reading.

I did NOT see that coming!
The Adversary is... Nope, didn't expect that, mind is blown. Also Boy Blue is ridiculously awesome. I'm kinda hoping on a Rose Red and Boy Blue thing happening at some point... (Doubtful but hoping)

So yeah...you find out who the Adversary is, which does come as a bit of a surprise. Boy Blue is a badass. I’m definitely liking his character more and more. The Arabian fables are introduced in this volume and they are dicks, but Totenkinder totally got the better of some of them. Lot’s of interesting things happening. I’m looking forward to reading more.
