A fascinating and thorough overview of the CIA’s coup in Iran. There were a number of places where the author glanced over the implications of a person’s actions or correspondence, and several others where I thought a second opinion might be worthwhile, but overall this is an important book that all Americans should read.

Enjoyable read, but I have two issues with the book.
First, the author glosses over Mossadegh's imperfections. The man ruled as a virtual dictator after he received emergency powers. So much for a love of the rule of law.
Second, I'm not sure I agree with the idea that had the coup not happened, Iran would be a stable, peaceful democracy. I think there is a good chance that the communists or mullahs would have seized power eventually. Both hated Mossadegh.

It seems interesting. I just couldn't get into it. I don't think it was what I needed right now.
