Hudson and Hadleigh were made to love each other. They have been the source of each other’s happiness for over a decade. They are each other’s everything and you can just see how much Hadleigh loves Hudson. But you could just feel how much Hudson loves Hadleigh.
We got to see Hudson and Hadleigh beforehand, when they first met. We got to see Hudson and Hadleigh at their best. And then we see them when Hudson disappears. You got to feel everything Hadleigh was feeling right alongside her. Hudson completely belonged to Hadleigh, heart and soul. I loved that they waited for each other, even when he didn’t know who he was, his heart was telling him in it’s own way
The mystery behind Hudson disappearance was insane. When we finally learn where Hudson is, we discover that he does not remember who he was or what he left behind. This really put Hadleigh in a difficult place, she never gave up on Hudson, and so much has changed since they last set eyes on each other. She needed to really did for that strength inside her more than ever.
I wanted so much more. I tore through this book in a day. I recall little moments of Hudson in the previous books, and the two of them just pull you right in and never let go. Despite everything that these two went through (pain, love, and the unknown) you just knew that their love was strong enough to find their way back to each other. Nothing could come between the love that Hudson and Hadleigh share, especially not amnesia.
I absolutely loved seeing Iseult and Gio again in this book. They are just as much fun as I remember them.
Did I figure out who was behind it? Kinda of. Did I figure out the why? In a sense. Did Lilian throw in extra curveballs that make your jaw drop? Absolutely. Just when you thought you had it all figured out, you realize it was just the obvious bits

Shattered secrets is a contemporary, mafia romance story. This a standalone is within the Messina Crime Family world.
You have:
Mafia Lawyer
Amnesia
Standalone
Morally Grey MC
Dark Romance
Pregnancy
Second Chance
Married Couple
Angst
To be honest, I haven't read many amnesia stories. The ones I have read, didn't really grasp my attention. So, I really didn't know what to expect. HOWEVER....that was not the case with Shattered secrets. Lilian has such a way with words and it grips you from the very beginning. If you're like me and not really familiar with with universe, it was soooo easy to follow and Hudson and Hadleigh’s story is worth the read! Definitely worth going back to previous books.

Hudson and Hadleigh’s story is one that gripped me from the start and shredded my heart only to put it back together again. My heart raced with anticipation wondering how it would all play out because there is so much happening that you may see coming, but definitely don’t see all that’s heading your way. These two have the perfect love and complete each other’s souls, but sometimes fate has other plans. I don’t want to give away anything because as you read the journey it takes you on is one you have to experience. What we have is two souls meant to be together and even if nothing will ever be 100% the same, their love defies it all. My heart hurt for the things they go through, but the author has a brilliant way of healing you as you read bringing these characters to life that makes you feel like you are in their shoes. When they hurt you hurt, when they love, you feel their passion, and it leaves you with a smile on your face wanting more.

I've highlighted a bunch of quotes in this book that I won't be adding in till later either because of the context and the fact they could be spoilers but let me tell you some of these quotes HURT and really created a new level of pain.
Hudson and Hadleigh have been madly in love for almost a decade, they are everything to each other and you see how much Hadleigh loves Hudson, but it is HIS LOVE that really made me tear up throughout the book. This is not to say hers was anything less, but it was the way he thought of her, the way he professed his love to her that really showed you how fortunute he felt every day that she existed and was his. I was afraid of a few things when the blurb was released but thankfully my own fears were put to rest as Lilian quickly destroys any of my doubts.
The mystery behind what happened to Hudson was intense. You were left with dead ends and more questions. As he doesn't remember who he was before really put Hadleigh in a difficult place as so much had changed since they last saw each other, and she needed to be stronger than ever before.
Did I figure out who? Sort of. The why? Again, sort of. To say I was shocked by other revelations was an understatement, I swear I told myself I had cracked the code but in reality, I had figured out the easiest choice.
There was one thing I did wish for, but it seems like it will never happen but the fragments we received should have been enough, but I just wanted it all (sorry for being vague but no spoilers remember?).
I devoured this in less than a day, I was hooked, and I needed to know everything before I went to sleep. These two had me in a chokehold and despite the angst, pain and the unknown I knew they would find their way back to each other, that kind of love is not meant to be forgotten even if you have amnesia.
Honestly, other than what I have said there is not much I can say without giving out the important parts of this book. Go in this blind, do not seek answers before you actually read them in the book.
I should also mention how OTT Hudson was before and after his memory loss. Some things never change.
OH, besides the MC’s of this book, the MVP is Iseult. Her along with Gio were so much fun to read about from other peoples perspective. The craziness of these two shined so bright haha

•mafia/mob/cartel/all the bad guys lawyer
•pregnancy
•amnesia
•HEA
•standalone
•no cheating
The book started out with a flashback of our Hero and his foster brother and gives us a glimpse into their background and how they started/how the hero came to be a lawyer for the various bad organizations.
The hero and heroine are extremely in love with each other. There’s no doubting that at any point in the storyline.
I thought certain aspects of the book were the obvious using foreshadowing/context clues. The real “kicker” was who else was behind everything that happens.

This was fun!
I liked the characters, the secrets and reveals were honestly done really well and spaced out nicely. It’s on the longer side for a romance but honestly the pacing and plot was done well to me I still ended up reading it in a single day.
I loved it being told in the past and present with the time jumps (a few days then weeks then months then the final 4 year jump) I feel like it was done in a way you’re not left wanting, you understand what’s gone on between that time and aren’t bored by it.
The angst hit just right tbh and even in the middle of all that anger you’re getting some hot hot spice, it was done really well and was a lot of fun.
Also I know based on the blurb you’re gonna think it’s heavy love triangle-ish but it’s not, it’s done well and just adds some angst and drama.
I will say I did figure out part of the plot twist which I was so proud of myself for LOL but there was another half I def didn’t see coming and I really enjoyed it.
Another thing I really liked was the take on the amnesia trope, I won’t spoil anything but I will say it wasn’t done the way most other books I’ve read with this trope do it and it was a nice take!
