I've been looking forward to Malik Fournier's book for a while because his story is a couple of books in the making. He was held captive by foreign militants after a failed mission a few books back. He was rescued by the Jameson team, and we saw him in the previous book recovering from his ordeal. But, Code Name: Ghost opened with Malik's actual rescue and we see first hand how that went down.

Unlike the previous books in the series where the plot centered on a brand-new mission, Code Name: Ghost was about Malik's struggles after his ordeal. He was determined to get back to normal as soon as possible and get back to his work at Jameson, but he had a lot of healing to do, especially his feelings of guilt having survived the mission while others didn't. And to make things more complicated, he had to grapple with his growing feelings for Anna Tate, the widow of one of the men who died during the mission.

Code Name: Ghost was an emotional journey for both Malik and Anna. I enjoyed both of their characters. I especially liked strong, independent single-mom Anna, who was pregnant when she lost her husband. She very was determined to stand on her own and raise her daughter despite her devastating loss. I really like her friendship with one of the Jameson agents too, Cage Murdock--their scenes together provided a lot of the humor in this book. I did think Malik and Anna got together a little too quickly, and I wish they had more of a slow burn. However, family (Malik's whole family, Anna's mom, the Jameson team as a tight-knit group) played a huge role in this book and I loved reading about that. Malik's family especially made me so happy and my favorite scene was when he was discussing the bro code with his sister, brothers, and brother-in-law (now I really want to read Cold Fury series!)--that scene made me laugh out loud.

I did read Code Name: Ghost entirely via audiobook and I thought it was well-casted with Aaron Shedlock as Malik and Virginia Rose as Anna. Their voices really fit their character and they did a good job conveying all the emotions in this book. Both narrators brought the story and the characters to life, and I thoroughly enjoyed their performance. You can't go wrong with the audiobook--I highly recommend it.

All in all, Code Name: Ghost was an enjoyable read--a bit more emotional than previous books in the series but a welcome addition. I can't wait for the next book in the series, which will be about Cage who got himself in a bit of a pickle...

So I have been waiting very impatiently for this book for a while now. It’s been teased and mentioned across Bennett’s other books. It really hyped up this one. I really NEEDED to find out what was going to happen. Well, it was certainly worth the wait. Once again Bennett truly delivers an amazing product. Can’t wait to read what’s next.

Code Name: Ghost

I was really looking forward to Malik's story, and the first few chapters were fantastic.
However, after that it kind of went downhill for me. There was no more excitement, twists or surprises.
I liked Anna in the previous Code Name books, but in this one I just found her lacking and slightly tedious.
I enjoyed it but it wasn't my favourite, or top 3, of the Code Name series.

Code Name: Ghost is the fifth book in the Jameson Force Security series by the talented Sawyer Bennett. I’m loving this series and have been waiting to see what was going to happen with Malik Fournier. We met him briefly before he was sent out on a mission and never came back. He was missing for five months and finally brought back home. When he is paired up to work with Anna, the widow of a man who was killed on his mission, he's surprised to find how at ease he is with her. Their friendship is just easy and nice. They know what each other went through, and grief is a powerful bond. But friendship doesn’t seem to be enough. The attraction is there and it's about to take over. Anna doesn't deny her feelings for Malik when she has her first thought about hot attractive he is. She's mourned the loss of her husband and is ready to move on with her life. Being with Malik just feels right and she's not going to walk away from the possibility of happiness. Will Anna and Malik be able to bury the past and move forward together? Will Malik's guilt be too much for him? I loved this story! Anna and Malik just clicked and I loved that. They were open and honest with each other and that makes all the difference. Second chances aren't a given, but sometimes fate steps in and gives you what you need even if it doesn't seem like it. Looking forward to the next one!

Malik. God I was waiting for this story since we knew he got captured. That was torture for me as well!! The first chapter had me already crying like a little girl. The feels, the atmosphere the author described gave me all the chills.
THIS is what a book brings to life! At least for me.

When Malik returns to Pittsburgh, he is carrying a lot of guilt with him. It takes time for him, to get back to his ‘old’ self, and talking and spending time with Anna helps too. Anna lost her husband during the op gone bad in which Malik has been captured. Now widow, single mom, she needed to adjust her life a lot. Working for Jameson Security as well, she’s is making the best of it. With Malik back, they form a friendship, and is lovely to see how they slowly get feelings for each other and eventually fall in love. But nothing is ever so easy, right??

Sawyer Bennett presents us again with a great story full of suspense, feelings, heartbreaking, lots of fun and banter (I love Cage btw!!) and sexy times. She has me hooked from the beginning, and I devour each and every book!!!

I kindly received an arc from the author and voluntarily left a review

If you have been following this series from the beginning, you have probably been waiting for Malik’s story. I couldn’t wait for Malik and this story was everything I could have wanted and so much more.

This story was emotional from the very beginning. Anna is a widow and has her baby girl, Avery. Her husband was killed on the mission where Malik went missing. Her and Malik are drawn to each other, they formed a friendship over the grief that they were both experiencing. However, their connection was strong and they were battling a thin line.

I loved watching Anna and Malik’s connection grow. They were able to help each other through everything they were experiencing. They had such a strong emotional connection and that is what made everything about their relationship so beautiful, however, they don’t lack in passion either.

Since Anna works at the Jameson offices, she formed a friendship with Cage and I could not get enough of it! They had a sibling vibe that I completely loved, plus this gave tons of little teasers to Cage’s book which is coming up next and I CANNOT wait for it.

Code Name: Ghost was full of so many emotions and passion. This one is a MUST READ!

After a mission goes wrong and he is captured, Malik is finally returning home to the States. Upon his return, he realizes that he lost a part of himself in the desert. As he fights the physical pain the mental pain proves to be harder to fight then he thought. The one person to step up and help bring him back into civilization and move on from the ghosts of his past is the one least expected. Anna lost her husband, Sal, during the same mission that Malik was captured. Upon seeing Malik she feels drawn to him and in need to comfort him. While Malik's feelings for Anna grow, he tries to keep her at arm's length while she tries to pull him closer so they can help each other heal from the ghosts that haunt them.

Code Name: Ghost is another great romantic suspense and addition to Sawyer Bennett's Jameson Force Security series. This was a story of healing and finding yourself again after losing a piece of yourself. I felt for Malik and his struggles when he returned home and his survivors' guilt. Anna has an absolute heart of gold and a lot of patients. These two were great for each other and their ability to help each other heal was what both of them needed. I can not wait for the next Jameson Force Security book with Rook and Cage's story.
