Yet another story in the Highlander Bride series that does not disappoint.  The Buchanon men are back at it.  This story has mistaken identity, kidnapping, and attempted murder to keep you entertained while reading.  Evina Maclean is in desperate need of finding Rory Buchanon to heal her father who is on his deathbed.  Unfortunately she found the wrong highlander and brought back Conran Buchanon.  Lucky for her Conran has learned a lot from helping Rory with his healing.  Evina’s father decides to do a little match making of his own and sets into motion a series of events that he hopes will cause Evina to have to marry Rory Buchanon.  When all of the Buchanons and Sinclairs start showing up they learn the true identity of the Buchanon that Evina kidnapped, or as she likes to say “protected”.  As with the other stories in this series there is a mystery to be solved. This story even pokes fun at earlier story lines.  I enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read the next one and learn which Buchanon is about to get married.

Oh my goodness... I loved this book. Again Lynsay delivers with the perfect blend of humor, romance and mystery. Great twists in this story. I hated having to put down. This is a book that begs to be read in one setting.

I love a highland romance and I love brotherhood, sisterhood and the protectiveness of these highland men without making their women feel weak and like they are less.

Words I would use to try to hook you to read:
Waterfall, unconscious, Scottish, mistaken, confusion, family, wounds, marriage…

This book was much less “oblivious FMC is oblivious” than the others before it, which I appreciated. Aside from Aulay, Conran has been my favorite Buchanan brother thus far.

I had my suspicions about some people in the castle, but I definitely didn’t see the antagonist coming!

Evina scowled at his dismay. “Well, what the devil do ye think we women talk about when ye men aren’t around? The weather?”
Horror began to dawn on his face. “Surely, ye don’t talk about . . .”
“Aye,”
she's right

The audiobook narrator was a good time. The story itself…it’s fun if you’re not expecting too much.

We get into the story right from the beginning, we have a misunderstanding which results in kidnapping our male love interest who by another misunderstanding was actually supposed to be his brother. Sparks fly, we have another misunderstanding in which Conran thinks Evina is not a virgin because she’s widowed but whoops she was a child bride and nothing happened. Then he has to woo her because she thinks sex is horrible after that one encounter and he needs her to want to marry him. Lots of misunderstandings in this book.

I felt like things progressed really fast and I would have liked more buildup.
