i loved the characters and the plot of this so much there was just some weird writing for a lot of the kissing/sex scenes where phoebe was written really passively

This is my favorite book of hers so far! I loved West and Phoebe

This one wrapped up too quickly considering how well the first 2/3 of the novel were laid out. It was still a fun read, but I had mental whiplash from the immediacy of the ending.

This was lovely :) The previous books do a good amount of work in terms of establishing character so read out of context maybe it wouldn’t feel as earned but I loved it! Lots of quality time together, SHOWING not telling, and felt like they got up to a lot without it feeling overly plotted or overly drawing room. Main complaint is West feels spiritually blond so I just can’t picture him with dark hair sorry.

This was a very uncomplicated story with virtually no conflict. Very sweet, lots of adorable moments with the heroine's kids, and it might be the first romance I've read where every single side character decides very early on that the 2 leads should get together and no one is subtle about expressing that opinion.

I enjoyed this at first but then towards the halfway point West really started to annoy me. His hesitation to marry Phoebe made little sense in light of how well her family (including the immensely critical EARL SEBASTIAN) loved him.

Okay, so Phoebe’s kids would eventually find out about drunken antics when they mature? So what?? Haaaaaaave you met their grandfather? I was so over the angst.

I love Phoebe though (I usually like the FMC Kleypas writes). I loved the way she parents her kids, treating them like tiny humans rather than sticky nuisances (even when they were being sticky nuisances).

I do wish their was an epilogue, I wanted to languish a little longer in the happiness the couple were finally experiencing. It ended waaay too abruptly.
