If you start reading this expecting to find a great piece of literature, or to read a book that's really going to make you think, stop now because you're going to be disappointed. This book is pure fluff, plain and simple. But it sure was fun.

Audrey was a likable character, but even more I liked her best friend, Victoria. Sure, the book wasn't very believable at times, but Robin Benway is a witty enough writer that I didn't really care. I don't mind suspending belief for a few hours while I have an enjoyable time.

There is quite a bit of language in this one, and teen sex is referenced very casually, so if you're offended by or don't like that in your books, I would skip this one. Otherwise, if your a fan of YA or chicklit, pick this one up and prepare for a fun ride.

Really funny and wonderful book. :)

It could have gotten 5 stars, but I didn't like the amount of curse words, and also Victoria
SpoilerHow she turned from good friend, to bad friend (though apparently she had good intentions, well I never saw them in the later parts, but oh well).

When Audrey breaks up with her wannabe-rockstar boyfriend, Evan, on the day that his band is to perform for an A&R guy, she has NO idea that he would make that breakup into a nationally famous Number One Hit song. Suddenly her life is turned upside-down: her outfits, outings, and love escapades become hugely discussed issues in the tabloids. All Audrey want is to be normal again, because that’s who she IS: a normal girl who loves loud music and works at the Scooper Dooper ice cream shop for money for her music obsession.

Of course, this unwanted newfound fame changes the relationships in Audrey’s life anyway, whether it’s with her parents, her funky best friend Victoria, or her Scooper Dooper co-worker, a quiet, tall, skinny Irish classmate by the name of James, who turns out to be much more than just an awkward co-worker. However, rumors about her, James, and Evan begin to fly as soon as the paparazzi catch wind of Audrey’s new boyfriend. Really, now, how’s a girl to deal with it all?

I loved Audrey in this refreshingly exciting novel! Audrey is the kind of cool and witty character who doesn’t get enough attention in the young adult genre. Despite the slightest excessive use of profanity, which might bother more sensitive readers, this book will make you laugh and cheer out loud in places where you shouldn’t be snort-laughing at Audrey’s hilarious narration. This is without a doubt one of the best novels I have read thus far this year.

The thing for me that holds me back from giving this book more stars is the amount of language in it. I am pretty tolerant as far as that is concerned in novels about high school kids- I know people think that is the way everyone that age talks- but my friends and I don't use foul language. At times I had to set the book down just to get away from the superfluous use of the f word. Really? Was it really necessary?

I enjoyed the growth of Audrey. The ending felt a little abrupt, but getting to it was such a pleasant journey that I didn't mind that much. I also appreciated the brains Audrey showed. She used PSAT words, stood by her decision to dump Evan (the first sentence tells you it happened so don't be mad about spoilers!) and was over all a very strong character. I really enjoyed the story this book had to tell.

This was such a super fun, light read. I laughed out loud many times. And had my jaw drop and the biggest smile a couple times. I may have pumped my fist and yelled "yes girl!!!" Once or twice as well.

One of the best chick-lit books I've read. And considering I've read a lot of Meg Cabot books, that's saying something.

This is the type of book I wasn't sure I'd be able to stomach through when I first bought it. I mean, I've read the summary and it sounded interesting enough to make me want to search every bookstore I pass through for a copy. But when I actually started it, I didn't know if it was a good enough book. Good thing I didn't give up, though, because it was an amazing book! At first, it was hard to get Audrey's wit and music-filled sense of humor and personality but you get used to it. Wait, actually, no, you don't just get used to it, you'll fall in love with it.

If you're feeling a bit blue and bored, read this book. Trust me, it'll do wonders to your mood. :)

Good job, Ms. Benway! :D
