wasn’t expecting to like this as much as i did. both books i’ve read by this author were super engaging and i didn’t wanna stop reading. loved corey and her story line and i enjoyed the ending though i did cry.

For all the hype surrounding the book, it was a pretty big let down. The story feels completely incomplete and you can pretty much guess the twist in the first twenty pages.

Wat een mysterieus boek was dit! Bij elk einde van elk hoofdstuk kwamen er allemaal vraagtekens op in mijn hoofd. Ik vond sommige dingen wel iets te vaag, waardoor ik ze dan niet goed begreep.

DNFing at 32%.
After reading Nijkamp's debut novel and not really enjoying it, I found myself pretty skeptical to pick up her second. Judging from what I read of this novel, I was right in thinking so. The story really isn't capturing my attention, and I don't foresee myself reading the remainder of the story.

Misschien snapte ik dit boek gewoon niet zo goed. Voor mij voelden de gebeurtenissen niet logisch en ik kon me ook niet inleven in de personages.
This book was really disappointing. The premise sounded amazing, a mystery set in a tiny Alaskan town. But the writing style was very jarring. The constant switching back and forth through time was overwhelming and confusing. The main character, Cory, must have had the same conversation with different people about a hundred times and never gained any new information. And then, about half way through the book, suddenly the author is writing in a movie script style?! What?!?! None of it worked for me.

I was able to read this ebook through NetGalley!
No. No. No. No. What even was this plot?! So many things are wrong with this book:
1) Kyra's parents
2) every adult (minus Aaron) in Lost
3) EVERY FUNCTIONING HUMAN IN LOST
4) Kyra's way of speaking only in riddles
5) romanticism of mental health disorders (due in part to #4)
6) ONCE AGAIN-- ALL THE ADULTS AND PEOPLE IN LOST
This was just so unbelievable and ridiculous. I gave it 2 stars because the writing was at least good. Other than that, this makes zero sense.
