The Spy and I by Tiana Smith is a fast-paced, adorably chaotic spy rom-com that kept me flipping pages!

Dove’s quiet evening takes a wild turn when she’s mistaken for her sister at a restaurant—only to realize her sister’s job is way more dangerous than she ever imagined. Suddenly swept into the heart of Prague, Dove has to rely on her hacking skills (and a very attractive spy) to clear her sister’s name.

I expected more romance, but this leaned heavily into espionage with a side of swoon. That said, the chemistry? Undeniable. While slightly predictable, it was an absolute blast from start to finish, and I’ll definitely be grabbing the next book!
adventurous lighthearted

This was a fun, Ali Hazelwood meets Ally Carter, spy romance.

Dove Barkley is a skilled hacker who works in cyber security. One day, a group of bad guys mistake Dove for her sister (who Dove later realizes is a spy), and is saved by a CIA operative, Mendez. Realizing that her sister is in danger, Dove partners up with Mendez and does whatever she can to help her sister.

As much as I enjoy spy romance novels, I didn't find the romance aspect/chemistry particularly convincing.

this book was such a nice surprise! i definitely was not expecting the thrilling, action-packed rom-com that this book was! the mystery and suspense of the story truly had me on the edge of my seat, I was honestly so hooked! this story felt like a breath of fresh air, spy romance isn't my usual go-to, but I think I officially caught the bug

This book was sort of ridiculous, but I had a great time. The mystery was fun, it was packed full of action, and I appreciated the dash of romance. If I could name one beef, it would be that they never gave the COO a name. Would’ve really improved the flow.

The Spy And I

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a cute spy romcom that flew by!

Dove is mistaken for her sister when she’s waiting in a restaurant, and suddenly finds out her sister’s job is not exactly what she thought. Thrown into the middle of Prague, she’s going to use her hacking skills to help clear her sister’s name.

Slightly predictable but still a whole lot of fun to listen to!
