I’d want to give this 2.5 stars. Some of it is good, and at the end I found my self thinking “that end was stupid”.
The Premise is interesting and the first half has great pacing. The middle gets a bit interesting but the core female character starts to lose her depth (so often the case when a YA female character meets a man) - the last third kinda falls apart. The last third needed a rewrite for sure.

I really did enjoy this book. The little be story was a little predictable but it was a good read.

I spent the first 85% wondering why I was still reading when I found things in this world frustrating ... the last 10% piqued my interest by a surprising little twist. I went from 2 to 3 stars and I'll attempt the second book to get an answer for that little twist.
