I wasn't too in love with this book, but I must say, I'm definitely in love with the writing style. As an aspiring writer, sometimes paying more attention to the writing style helps me figure out what works for me and what doesn't. I think the parts where Patroclus is thinking about Achilles are the most pleasing stylistically. Some parts remind me a lot of Sappho's poetry or Shakespeare's tragedies.

i did not finish this book. i had read the first 50 pages, and i did not feel connected to any of the characters. i did not feel like any of them were fleshed out or very complex. i deeply did not like how the romance was written and it mostly just made me feel bothered.

One of the most beautiful books I've ever read. Absolutely breathtaking, beautifully written and heartbreaking.
It was no surprise in how their story ended, but how it was all written was what got me.
100/5 If I could, I'll forever love it.

I also plan to re-read it in english, since I've read it in polish first, so maybe I'll update that review one day.

The most immersive book I’ve read this year and easily one of my favorites! I keep hovering between 4.75 and 5 stars (I feel like I need to read more in this genre to properly assess). Naturally, this story was devastating.

So I knew a little bit about Achilles and Patroclus but not much. I did NOT know that P died first and that killed me inside to watch A’s descent from there. To watch his grief and also P narrating from the afterlife?? Insane, in the best way.

I didn’t know what to do with myself afterwards so I cried for a while then called a friend. Due to my mental stability, I’m looking for another book to wreck me. I would ask for recommendations but my TBR is 700+ books long so I’m sure I’ll find something.
