OMG!!! YES, Cookie O'Gorman, you are amazing. Everything you write makes me laugh and smile, I love it. This book was just a great read. Romance, interesting plot, great characters, I just love Cookie's books. I hope there are many more to come.

Yay Stryker!! So glad he got his own book, after Adorkable I wanted to see him get his own story. Love the crossovers between Cookie O'Gorman's other books. I liked the dual perspectives. Snow was an awesome character, I particularly appreciated her tomboy tendencies but hidden girly side. She was capable of loving chick flicks and romance while also loving Bruce Lee and hanging out with the guys. Admittedly the talking to a poster thing was a touch strange, particularly how often but I suppose it is the equivalent of keeping a journal. I will now think of Nicki Minaj every time I hear leaves rustle.

Another adorably cute YA romance by Cookie Gorman. In fact I think I like this one even better that Adorkable. Snow is totally kick-ass and awesome. And I love how Ash recognises this and how besotted and focused on convincing Snow to give him a shot. He is so totally open about his feelings for her and he is so likable. I loved when he noticed how hurt she was at being excluded from the Guys night so he turns down the invite. We also get a cameo from Sal & Becks. It has the cute back n forth banter/flirting with the added bonus of some external danger to liven things up and give Snow a chance to show her skills. It was annoying how Ash tried to make her jealous but Sal & Sadie soon set him straight. My guess for the next is Sadie but I am looking forward to reading it whoever it is.

This book was everything I've been I've been waiting for after Adorkable. After a wait that seemed forever long, I'm so happy with how this book turned out. The characters were so relatable, per usual, and I fell in love with all of them. There was mystery and suspense and it totally surprised me. I can't decide weather I love this one or Adorkable more, and that's a huge compliment for this book in itself. I'm so excited to reread this one until Cookie O'Gorman release another fantastic read.

I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
So I have Cookie O’Gorman’s debut novel, Adorkable sitting in my Kindle app, and I can’t wait to read it because it sounds freakishly adorable, and I am all about adorable books (I like to mention Imperfect Chemistry for the New Adult readers).

Ninja Girl is O’Gorman’s second novel, and it does seem like a second book in a stand-alone series since from what I know, the love interest of this book, Ash, makes an appearance in Adorkable and the couple in that book make an appearance here. (Did I make sense or was that too weird?)

What drew me to Ninja Girl in the first place is the Korean MC, Snow, who looks up to Bruce Lee as her role model and makes her decisions based on what she thinks Bruce Lee would approve. She’s phenomenal at martial arts, which makes her stick out from her group of “friends” because she’s considered a tomboy. To prove that she is indeed a girl, Snow decides to kiss an entirely random guy, someone she would never typically go for, who turns out to be the son of a running candidate for the Senate that recently got pulled out of his life in a public school to a private school.

Ninja Girl reverses the whole damsel in distress and boy saves girl trope - instead, Snow is the one who saves Ash. Snow is recruited as Ash’s bodyguard when his father starts getting more threats as they get closer to elections. It’s just so refreshing to see a familiar trope being reversed and breaking out of the norm (and of course, O’Gorman isn’t the only one who does this, but I’m extremely glad there’s another female character to root for).

It is a very nitpicky thing, but I am a little bothered by the title since ninja originates from Japan. However, I feel the title fits remarkably well with Snow as a character - she is extraordinarily fast in her movements when we see her in action as a bodyguard.

I loved the writing style in Ninja Girl - O’Gorman is hilarious with her writing style, and there are a lot of moments where I just really enjoyed having Snow as the main character and getting to know Ash as a character. As mentioned, I currently have O’Gorman’s debut novel on my kindle and getting the chance to see her writing style in her sophomore novel makes me extremely excited to read her debut when I get the chance. There are some fantastic lines in Ninja Girl that I love, and I honestly want to make a different post featuring all of my favorite quotes from the book.

Overall, though, if you want a cute story with a kickass main character who is a POC and hilarious lines, Ninja Girl might be the book for you.

DISCLAIMER: I received an ARC of this book for honest review

Absolutely, positively adorkable! No, I didn't read that book, but I totally plan to now! I love that the MC is Korean. And this is a great twist on the 'damsel in distress' character, because it is turned around. Super-squeaky clean; no words-bombs, no behind-the-doors or suggestive topics. Total badass MC. I love her!

This book was fine. But Ash needed to stop with the entire “commenting on Snow’s good looks every five seconds” thing. And the twist at the end wasn’t a twist - it was soooo easy to figure out.

Should have just kept it a romance and nixed the kidnapping.

I have to admit, after loving Adorkable, I'm feeling let down by Ninja Girl. Honestly, it feels like every aspect of the plot besides the love story was only half thought out. Mean girls who hate Snow? They feel like a big deal, then just fade out a quarter of the way through the novel. Snow goes back to high school to protect Ash? Seems like it could be a goldmine, yet after the first day, it's hardly mentioned. The bad guys? SOOOOO obvious. I just didn't feel like anything was clearly drawn out—it was all just kind of filler to get us from Point A (Snow and Ash meet) to Point B (Snow and Ash get together).

I will say that O'Gorman knows how to write romance. I loved Snow and Ash together, and their "meet cute" was unexpected and adorable. But the rest of the novel—and characters—fell flat. 2-1/2 stars.

Note: There's quite a bit of swearing in the novel (no "f-bombs," but just about everything else) and a couple misuses of Jesus' name. Definitely PG-13 territory.

OK so i love how the hero of the story is NOT guy, but rather, it's a badass ninja girl. This book was incredible, could not put it down!
