Super consigliato.
Come sempre Carofiglio eccelle nel coinvolgere completamente il lettore nelle vicende dell’avvocato Guerrieri.

Il libro è molto fluido, scorre molto bene con un minimo accenno a un lessico tecnico-giuridico di facile comprensione.

La storia prende il lettore fin dall’inizio e lo tiene incollato alle pagine del libro tra colpi di scena, suspense e frasi non dette.

Peccato che, ogni volta che finisco un libro di Carofiglio su Guerrieri, vorrei sapere cosa succede dopo. ;)

Excellent court room drama set in Bari, Italy. I really enjoy the main character who, while a bit cynical, will still take on cases that others avoid. Was also impressed with how much plot the author was able to squeeze into a rather short book. Listened to the audio version which was narrated by Sean Barrett who is fast becoming one of my favorites.

I don’t know why his second book does not get as much praise as his first? Such a fun and creative book that I never wanted to put down. He creates the most interesting characters while also being incredibly funny!! I don’t know if the humor would be recognizable in another language but big recommendation if you are looking for a detective/crime summer book

A thriller with a little philosophical musing thrown in, some wry observations on the Italian legal system and a large dose of empathy for the people - victims, perpetrators, police, lawyers - caught in its machinery. Written by an insider, a prosecutor himself, you can’t help but wonder how much is drawn from life and suspect that the answer is all of it.
