I liked the first one. Some of it was wobbly but overall I enjoyed it. I didn’t really care for Embry in the first book but I hoped that would change once I knew his backstory. Nope. “Woe is me” rich boy is not even original.
I stopped at 36% because I couldn’t take anymore. Greer gets kidnapped by an enemy country. Embry goes to rescue her and they immediately forget about a sense of urgency. He’s fantasizing about her and she’s telling him how upset she is. I understand being upset, but have that breakdown AT HOME. Then her brilliant idea is to have him pretend to rape her so she’s not traumatized?!
I couldn’t do anymore. I already predicted her cousin set her up, the President got his half sister pregnant, and a sex tape of the kidnapping sex would be released. I’m sure more happens but I do not care. I really am reconsidering ever reading a book by her again. I was eagerly awaiting Honey Cut but this changes things. If I could give this book negative stars I would.

Holy crap what a whirl wind. This one was achingly beautiful, haunting and leaves me just a bit broken... Can't wait to read the next one.
