I expected a lot out of this one and was really underwhelmed. Maybe I didn't read it closely enough (well, I know I didn't read it closely enough). I'm crossing my fingers that Lolita will prove more captivating.

Is it possible to be smitten with a book? Surely it is, because the feeling I had upon reading the first twenty pages was best compared to the sparkle and crackle of scintillating conversation with someone for which you fear you may be beginning to develop feelings.

My friend, Aaron, recommended this and I am thrilled he did. I often read before going to sleep, and I often found myself disappointed that sleep was “a thing” and I’d have to postpone reading more about poor Pnin.

This book is HILARIOUS, gloriously written, and surprisingly moving without being heavy handed. You feel for this guy. You really do.
This is one of my favorite English language books I’ve read in quite a while.

From what I understand, this isn't really considered one of Nabokov's best, but since it's my first, I loved it. Such wonderful word play and clever descriptions.

Can't wait to read more.
