This was my first Laura Lee novel, and she did not disappoint. Quite the opposite rather. I had been wanting to read this series but time got away from me, so I finally mapped out enough time to dive in. Let me just say, the ideas that Laura Lee came up with in this book were astounding. She could have went with the basic girl moves to new school and fees bullied but she took it far past that. The story she weaved for Jazmine was so interesting and pulled me in from the very beginning.
Jaz is a very strong, outspoken 18 year old who holds her family near and dear to her. Her mother is killed tragically and is left with a half little sister who then goes to her fathers, one different from jaz. She does everything in her might to make sure she keeps in contact with her sister, Belle, all the while dealing with an evil step sister, her awful boyfriend, and his rude friends. Thank goodness Jaz made one loyal friend, Ainsley.
This story ends on such a cliff hanger I IMMEDIATELY had to start the next one. This book will have too flipping pages so fast, you won’t realize you hit the end until you read...
So cheers Laura Lee, I loved it, and you now have a new reader thanks to this series!

they drugged her, and then took advantage of her when she was drugged. Absolutely not
Jazz is forced to move to her fathers house, a man she’s never met. He’s oober rich, married to a witch with an even bigger b*tch of a stepdaughter, Peyton. Peyton and Jazz of course do not hit it off and their first interaction is Peyton telling Jazz off. Dads got real issues with the way things should be run and how woman should act/dress.
Jazz’s saving grace is Ainsley. Her one and only friend at her new school. Sadly Ainsley is related to Kingston, Peytons boyfriend. No one makes it easy for Jazz and she is constantly picked on by most everyone in school.
There’s lots of secrets going on. Jazz learns some things about her mom. Kingston does a complete turn in behavior and claims Jazz as his.
Major cliffhanger!!

So somehow, this author has been flying off my radar, but not anymore.
I love a dark bully romance, and Lee has nailed it.
Traveling to the elite side of the world, Jazz is met with some formidable challenges in Peyton, Kingston, Bentley & Reed primarily, although the last is more of a specter than anything else. They want to tear down the new girl, and will stop at nothing to achieve their goal.
I died at that cliffy. We could have made this book 80,000 pages and I would have read them all gladly to avoid hanging.
There’s a good bit of mystery surrounding the Callahan & Davenport families, so I’m anxious to see how that is resolved.
Definitely recommend.

dark
medium-paced
Mindless reading at its finest
It ended with a cliffhanger so I will be reading the next one just to know what happens

Well, I love myself a good bully romance. Especially when the male MC is hardcore lying to himself that he’s in love with the female MC.
Read this in 4 hours. It was great. Strong Female lead, ALTHOUGH I want to highlight How easily she forgave and forgot about the guys drugging her and almost raped her.. that’s not the strong Female character the author built her up to be.
And I am not getting how everybody is surprised about the ending… it’s the same as the prologue, it’s just the reasoning around the motives that are different for me.
