This was really good and addicting, though not a new favourite from me. I am really excited for the sequel as this book ended on a major cliffhanger.
this set woman back 5,000 years the only reason it’s not 1 stars is because I still managed to turn the page
This book and the plot would have been 5 ⭐️s if it weren’t for the drugging scene to get pictures and videos to spread around the school.
Also idk why Peyton was such a bitch from the start. It’s annoying. Literally everyone in the book is borderline insufferable. The stepmom the dad. Her sister dad. Kingstons dad. The guys at school. Like every character outside the main 5 are literally atrocious. This author is obsessed with rape and it’s weird. I’m not talking dubcon,or cnc I’m talking straight up rape. Traumatic shit. The end of this book, the drugging scene (it’s bothers me ab this bc what you find out in book2), the way her dad openly talks about how women are basically meant to be fucked and do nothing else. Like the man literally tells his daughters they can’t expect a man to be faithful??? It’s annoying af. Also just the overall predatory behavior by the two dads is disgusting through this and the second book. ESPECIALLY the end of book 2.

not for me and I wanted to stop reading but it ended on a cliffhanger so obviously now I HAVE to read the next one
Author is confused about Bully Romance VS Sexual assault
I’m so confused at every single review on here. Are we just skipping the fact that this girl was sexually assaulted and it involves revenge porn? The FMC was literally drugged by the male characters, sexually assaulted & then photos of her were leaked to her school and to top it off the author made it seem like the reason it happened was because she was attracted to the male character and his friends?
NOPE. This book is full of triggers & honestly can’t believe this author wrote that scene was like hmm this is good???

this was recommended in a tiktok… read like an episodes story
This book was sooo bad I didn't even know why the hell am I finished it?!! I just laughed the hole time it was that bad. God, I'm honestly ashamed that I read this.
Holy Sweet Baby Unicorns!!! This book was EVERYTHING, I literally couldn’t put it down from the first page to the last. Kingston is the best alphahole and you can’t figure out if you love him or hate him or if you can’t even trust him but you want to all the same. And in the same breath Jazz is so fierce and sassy, she is the ultimate badass and you can’t help feeling all the emotions for her. Thank god the second book is out and I can jump right back into this amazing world that Laura Lee has created!!
Jazz is supposed to be a hardened but pretty sister from the other side of the tracks whose father brings her into high society. Supposedly. I do like her vulnerability, but I expected her to fight better. I expected her to make good decisions. She doesn’t. The first party she drinks something spiked. The next party she walks drunkenly with a friend into the woods expecting her *hot* almost boyfriend to meet her after midnight?
Well, there are hints the alcohol has affected her judgement, so I can understand. But still…
Kingston is hot. We get to read about his motivations, but I really like his interest in digging up the dirt on their parents, and I wonder why Jazz doesn’t do the most basic research on him and his friends. She studies in a library, duh. Kingston is primed to take a part in his father’s company, but we don’t know what he really wants to do after graduation.
Their friends are just as interesting, but Jazz’s dad is complicated. I found him fascinating to explore. He is cold. He might or might not be attracted to underaged women. He is misogenist. Yet he legitimizes his daughter, asks Kingston to tame her (hopefully as a socialite), and treats her as a daughter. I keep wondering if he is actually not the cruel and depraved person, but maybe Melissa, his wife, is? I get the impression she is pretending to cow to his demands.
There are so many questions left, I might download the next one. But the twist at the end left me depressed.
Warnings:
* Potential Rape or almost Rape
* Murder
* You won’t be able to put it down. Expect lost, tortured sleep.
* Definitely NOT Young Adult
I think a contemporary romance must have an exotic setting and powerful characters. You will get both, and a twisted plot. Don’t read this if you are depressed.
