i had a long ass review written and then misclicked and it got deleted…lol i’m not retyping all that. 

long story short, i’m not sure how to rate this book. it wasn’t to my personal taste (read for a book club and probably never would have picked up on my own) and overstayed its welcome by about 150 pages. however, i think it did what it set out to do quite effectively for its target audience (which i do not think i am).

This book was emotional, thought provoking, and so good.

This is my first Jodi Picoult book and I will definitely be diving into her backlist.

I wish everyone would read this book, learn from it, leave with a better understanding, and a whole lot more compassion. What an important book and I’m so glad to have read it. I will certainly not forget about it any time soon.
