This one started off great and then was just a little too sugary sweet. Hockey romances have a little more edge to them, at least the ones I’ve read so far. This one, the star falls instantly in love with “Kitten”. At first the nick name was cute, but then got annoying pretty quickly. Everything goes well, he takes his time making a move on her, and she blindly trusts him. Reminded me of a very immature, almost high school, “romance”. That being said, it was a sweet and enjoyable read.

This was so bad but in a fun way. Like the writing is not great (but at least there wasn't any glaring grammar awfulness on every page). The story is not that great. The characters are rather flat stereotypes. There's no real character development. There's no growth. There's meet-cute, flirting/sex, conflict, and resolution. The standard rom-com formula except without any actual development or transition. I mean, you can probably guess that from the title. Seriously "Sleet Kitten". And the fact that he calls her kitten, OMG, just no. (That was like seriously cringy.) And some of the things the author wrote also cringy and some were too sexist. I get that she was trying to write a sexy (somewhat) alpha male, but there's a line between being a hot alpha male and being sexist.

But even with all that, I still finished it and enjoyed it. Most of that is because I had low expectations. (Seriously, really low expectations.) It's complete romance fluff that totally reads like it's self-published. I mean the fact that she admits in the acknowledgments that this was the first book she ever wrote and that her mom was basically her editor should tell you everything you need to know. And still, it was fun. So have a drink, don't think too hard about it, and just go with it.

This was a cute and quick read. It was a good palate cleanser book. It’s mostly character driven, low on plot with some ow drama.

Seriously one of the best hockey romances hands down. I loved the writing style and the banter. Laughed a lot while reading this one….only cried a little

So freaking good! Light hearted, funny, sweet, packs some heat. I could go on and on. I loved Jackson and Kitten but I loved everyone else too! I loved their story - even the hard parts. This book was just what I needed and it made me so happy! I definitely have a new favorite author!

I need to stop getting books Instagram tells me to get. From the first line of the book I knew I wasn’t going to like it. I love cursing, that’s not the issue, I hate stupid cursing.

“Well fuckity shits on a stick. Isn’t that just great?”.

Bitch, WHY? The dialogue between characters in this book was downright cringey. It felt like 296 pages of trying too hard. Especially “Kitten”. If you’re going to have a stupid nickname don’t overuse it.
It’s also a pet peeve of mine when I have to read the same interaction over and over because the characters are explaining EVERYTHING that happened to their friends and family. We were there for it, you don’t have to have them go over it word for word. Speaking of friends, I’m tired of the overplayed “red-headed best friend who is an overbearing firecracker who constantly talks about dick” trope. I understand with smutty romance that I’m going to run into a few clichés, but come on.

HOWEVER, there were some silver linings. I didn’t overly hate most of the characters and the sex scenes weren’t bad.
