I cannot believe I DNF’d a SJ Tilly book but it was ROUGH imo.
1. Stilted conversations that came off really… robotic. And just not what the average human would actually say in a conversation or greet people with.
2. All the characters were over the top and yet really boring.
3. There was no plot. No spice. No actual meaningful connections happening between anyone. Literally just stilted conversations and recapping and…
4. I know it’s in the name but Kitten? I don’t think he said her name once in the 51% I read.
5. I cannot believe I am saying this but there was a lot of unnecessary swearing. The friend/s calling each other bitch, whore, slut. At their grown age of 31 and above? I did that in high school.
6. I mentioned already but all the recappingggggggggggggggg a serious pet peeve of mine in books. We already read it, don’t say it again.

It was good, even though i thought the ending was a bit boring...
This was super cute to me. I wanted an easy romcom read and it delivered. I liked the relationships with the FMC and the other women in the story. Jackson is adorable. And they threw some spice in there. I enjoyed myself

The puns. The flirtation. The spice. The warm, cozy feels I got while reading this book was just literary perfection at its best and I cannot wait to absolutely devour the next one! Plus THE ENDING. My god.
