it was ok. lot of miscommunication for some reason…not a fan of it. the female main character towards the beginning was very ehh…
I so badly wish I could rate this higher but the book kept getting more and more cringe by the page. I literally laughed so much at the beginning because the situations were that of a rom-com. Katelyn "Kitten" accidentally found herself where Jackson Wilder, a hockey player, was hiding. Katelyn and Jackson share a cute moment and nothing really happens, he is a gentleman. Jackson and Kitten then find themselves having a dinner party instead of date at his place because his coach and teammate came over and his mother and sister and the coach's daughter. A full house. They can't catch a break. It is really cute but the lack of character development and reality marked this book down a lot.
Jackson calls Katelyn "Kitten" so much that he hardly says her real name. I would guess he thought/said it maybe 10 times and that is being generous. There are no flaws in any of the characters except Jackson's ex. Kitten is perceived as perfect and the only thing causing her downfall is her insecurity. Jackson has no flaws, literally none, and that just makes him too perfect. The book is seriously a slice-of-life fluff book with a tiny bit of spice. I will say that what saved it was the comedy aspect in the beginning that I grew fond of. As the story progressed it was a short timeline for them to be in love with one another. It didn't necessarily feel forced but they hardly knew each other. They had one chapter of deep and meaningful conversation and then suddenly they just knew that they were it for each other.

So I read this book after seeing a quote of a scene and being super intrigued, and honestly it was probably the funniest and most memorable part of the book.
The book isn't bad, but it's not overly good either. The plot is basic, girl meets hot boy while hiding from her ex at a party. He turns out to be famous hockey player whom she has no clue anything about, he pursues her, some funny things happen, a brief misunderstanding which leads to a sort of breakup, then conversation is hard and all is well!
The writing is clunky at times. The plot very basic where most of the characters stay kinda one dimensional. There are definitely some funny moments, the kiss came scenario is for sure the funniest and best moment. The spice is ok. It's a slow burn and we really only get I think two scenes.
All in all, the book was ok and mildly entertaining.

This one was feeling a little too insta-lovey to me, which I think is just a thing with this author’s books but I guess I didn’t mind it so much in her two previous books I’ve read.
However what made me roll my eyes so hard & immediately put my kindle down was when the FMC is on the verge of tears watching the MMC fight on the ice and saying “I can’t believe Jackson just started a massive fight in the middle of a game!”
I’m sorry WHAT? Not even 2 pages earlier you watched him slam into the boards and threaten the guy next to you when the Kiss Cam landed on y’all & loved it so much. An opponent on the ice whispers something to him (clearly about you) and that’s too much for you?

I wanted to like this book but I just couldn’t connect with the main characters. Everything about this plot just felt rushed. There was no character development and that’s saying something since this book has 54 chapters. We had 54 chapters to fall in love with these characters and it just all fell flat.
Very good book! Really enjoyed it
Only reason it isn’t 5 stars is although book happend over 2 weeks it moved really fast. The author almost tried to be “woke” at times. And finally kitten WHYYYYYY that nickname and he only used her real name like 3 times.
Though this was a very enjoyable book and it had a strong plot and the charecter S truly felt like they liked eachother! Will definetly be reading more in the series!
