Did I say that Vol 2 upped the ante? I had no idea what I was talking about. vol 3 is by far the most outrageous and unapologetically insane thing I've ever read. And I've read G. Streator.
While I do think this story was good and it gave both J and M plenty of time to explore the absurdity of their feelings for one another, I can't help feeling a little disappointed.
For 1, we never got a resolution to the W mystery. How did he die? Did J kill him? He can't have been forgotten, because J remembered his name, and even M found it after just a short search in his diary. So what happened? Was the betrayal he mentioned just that J loved him and wanted to be intimate with him, even though W saw him as a son? It's never really resolved and that bugs me.
2, I also feel like it tried to pack way too much into one volume. The events of this book really should have been a 2-3 volume exploration, for how much happened and what needed to happen.
However, it's over now and it seemed like a fitting end, even if I am disappointed with how it got there.
