Kaitlin is a Hollywood heart throb. Teens across the country wish they could be her, but she just wishes she could take a break from the Hollywood life. Kaitlin and her friends concoct a scheme, where she will attend a private school as someone else. However, like with other novels/stories about assumed identities, Kaitlin finds true connections, but they are all built on a lie.

Will Kaitlin want to return to her old life? Will she get to keep the wonderful people from her fake life?

This was standard fluffy fake identity novel and contains everything you expect. The main character is annoying, but she would fit right in on the ABC Family line-up.

Secrets of My Hollywood Life

I just re-read this book and I still enjoyed it. I am a big fan of Jen Calonita’s writing. But I gave this book 3 stars simply because I am definitely not the target demographic for this book series. I am a college student in my early 20’s and this book is more for 8th or 9th grade readers. Despite that this book was a fun and easy read. I’d recommend this book for people that like The Clique series or The Gallagher Girls series or for someone looking for an easy read to help get themselves out of a reading slump.

I read this when I was 14 and it seemed pretty good at the time. I tried reading it again and surprisingly, nothing has changed towards my feeling to the book. It's cliche but I love it. The main character is easily likeable and you get to see her character develop over the series. I also love the rest of the characters especially Nadine. Over all, I think it's a nice feel good, young adult mixed with humor and Hollywood. If you enjoy Meg Cabot, you'll love this.

I have one word to describe this book: AWFUL.
It is incredibly poorly written. Was this meant to be a published book or Hannah Montana fanfiction? Seriously, I wonder.
Kaitlin is boring, stupid, and immature. The author made a poor attempt at making her relatable and likable; but she comes off as an annoying as hell Mary sue. Really, she is such a good person she barely harbors any hate towards anyone and is just so nice. Please get real. Also, the love interest Austin is also a total male mary su (I believe the term is gary stu). At some point, Kaitlin even says that he seems too perfect which made wonder that maybe the book isn't meant to be taken seriously. Every character in the book is cardboard, completely one dimensional, and obviously transparent. I have cero clue why would someone rate this book any higher than 3 stars. It's actually so bad, it's pathetic. The storyline is 100% predictable. It is a bit interesting otherwise I wouldn't have read it. But in the end, this book completely and utterly sucks.

I liked this book...I did, but god if I didn't want to hit everyone (except for 3) over the head with a club.

So Kate is a Hollywood star who wants desperately to be normal. SO she enrolls in public school, under disguise of course. You all see where this is going right? Of course she's going to get caught and of course she's going to fall in love with a "normal" boy. In addition to living a double life, she also has a co-star who's hell bent on destroying her and parents, who in my opinion, don't actually care about their daughter. They only care about the celebrity. And why was her manager always yelling? Reading entire conversations in cap lock is NOT FUN.

And as for Kate, she was all right. The whole book she complained about being normal, but then would whine when no one paid her attention or when she had too many things booked in one day. YOU DID IT TO YOURSELF!

This was definitely another book where the side characters were better than the main. Best friend, Liz, seemed to have her head on straight. And I loved her driver and personal assistant. They gave actual depth to the book. And I adored Austin.

Fun book overall, but predictable. Will I read the rest? Maybe...if they were given to me.

3.5 stars. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. I will be reading the next one though.

Likes:
- Kaitlin. She was entertaining.
- Austin.
- Liz.

Dislikes:
- The writing style was okay, but something just seemed off to me about it. I'm not sure what.
- Her mom. She seemed very overbearing and superficial. Hopefully she'll get better in later books.
- Sky. She was a bitch. A well written bitch. So I'm not sure if this should go in the likes column, because while I hated her, I was supposed to, or in the dislikes column. Because she was a dislike.

I think this book was just a combo of Hannah Montana and Princess Diaries, but I can’t remember for sure.
