This volume had everything I love about One Piece—emotional flashbacks, intense action, and lore that hits like a ton of bricks. Bonney’s backstory and Kuma’s fate gutted me. The world-building just keeps expanding, and the pacing never lets up. The Elders’ transformation? Chilling. Vegapunk’s last stand? Brutal. You can feel the world tipping toward chaos.

Flashbacks continue as the big cyborg bear-man continues his privateering for the government, and the government in turn confiscates his mail to his daughter. But thankfully, Bonney ain't the kind of gal who thinks the teddybear of a man gave up on her so she doesn't give up on him. So after a daring escape in which her DF powers are given an...interesting twist (YOU'RE *ACTUALLY* ACCESSING THE FUTURE & THE PAST WUT?!), she pulls a reverse Finding Nemo and searches the seas for her dad, which led her to being labeled by the government as one of the 11 Supernovas, the worst up&coming pirates of this generation.
Back in the present tho, fits REALLY hit the shan as lots of bad keeps happening to the escaping crew. But then there's also good happening as we get some returning characters FROM BEFORE THE TIMESKIP to lend a helping hand to all the opposition happening to our protagonists! (guess they finally settled their centuries long beef or realized it was pointless?) Worse comes to WORSE tho and
the main Vegapunk dies at the claws of the demon spider man</i>, however because of that a message is broadcast to the entire world, with some hilarity as an old man is an old man & his broadcast has several minutes of "hey is this thing on? Camera's off? Am I on mute? Are we letting the people at home have some time to set up things on their end?" aaaaaand the book ends before we can find out what the actual message said.
Keeps getting thrilling as this brief pop into Tomorrowland comes to a close.
