This book really surprised me, and it makes me so glad that I bought a Kindle and managed to find all these terrific authors. After being in a bit of a "romance novel" rut, where I could feel all the dreamy tropes eating away at my brain. "What the Wind Knows" is such a nice surprise of literary triumph that dabbles slightly at a deep burn romance, bringing me much joy and love for Ireland. It checks all my boxes for a wonderful historical fiction: time travel, historic facts weaved in with fiction, a lovely HE romance, and W.B. Yeats! Loved the incorporation of Yeats in every chapter and also those of the Irish folktales. What a refreshing read!

I enjoyed What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon. I was a little nervous based on some reviews that it was going to be an Outlander copy cat. While there are similarities, I feel like there was enough in this story to make it different.

I didn't have a good connection with Anne, and truthfully I didn't feel like she was all that likable. I didn't hate her as a character, but she wasn't a selling point for me. I was much more interested in the historical aspect of the story and Thomas's journal entries. The time travel aspect was interesting, but I found her being mistaken for her great grandmother a little odd.

The inclusion of WB Yeats' poetry was a nice touch, and I liked how it was incorporated into the story.

I picked up this book because someone said it reminded them of Peaky Blinders but I was getting more Outlander vibes from it. Either way, it was an enjoyable Irish historical fiction with some magical realism hints. I loved the way it all came together and that really sealed the deal because it really could have gone any way. Amy Harmon really did well in capturing the feeling that comes along with truly loving someone. It was sweet.
