The first thing that pulled me to this book was the cover. It’s got Buzz Lightyear on it for god’s sake! Then the title caught my eye since I work in a very creative field. But as Ed Catmull says, you don’t have to be in a creative field to have creativity. Ed goes through the trials and tribulations he faced fulfilling his dream of creating the first animated full feature length film. However, he also goes through philosophies of management, problem solving and methods that made it Pixar the amazing organisation it is. Personally, I felt this book has taught me a lot in regards to both my job as a graphic designer but also as an aspiring author. This book also highlighted the huge role Steve Jobs had within Pixar and how his school of thought was integral. Brilliant book!
