Iconic for its legacy, but the text itself is less compelling as a work of literature. As a historical text it's a great way to see the filaments that connect modern day horror with the turn of the 20th century, but the epistolary structure really didn't work for me for most of the book.

Dracula should've won. The only time this book cooked was when Harker was attacked by the wives and Dracula (king) told them "do not touch him, he's mine" which they assumed meant he's in love??? And when they accused him or not being able to love, Dracula gazed at Harker's sleeping face and told them "no, I am able to love." 🏳️🌈
