It’s average. Nothing special. The beginning of the book is a nice set up and I kept waiting for the book to get great but honestly I think the actual survival game part of the book really lost my interest. Pick this up if you want an easy and predictable read.

I didn't felt chemistry between leads, there is more development of them as individuals then couple.

Very cute. But don't let the romance part overshadow the critiques of classism and racial microaggressions told from the perspective of a working-class Asian American youth. I really enjoyed the Zombie contest plot, which skews toward sci fi. Only part I didn't like so much was the near moustache twirling villain. I wouldn't be mad at a sequel though.

*˚｡⋆ ➵ i chose to read this because i really wanted a cute romance book that had a different plot than the average YA romance. well, unfortunately, i was not given that. i can’t think of a single thing i liked about this book. the main characters, Nate and Kate, were dull and uninteresting. i didn’t care about their separate lives and i certainly did not care about their romance. they had zero chemistry. not a sprinkle. also, for this being a book about zombies, i can tell you there were not that many zombies. the lead up to the survivalist competition was boring and once we reached it, it was just disappointing. oh, and the worst part was the constant amount of modern references and slang. just off the top of my head, i remember hearing about tom holland, harry potter, and adam levine. and the characters kept using slang like, “OMG”, “WTF”, and “slay”. do we REALLY need to keep adding this type of stuff into books?? no, i think not. anyways, that’s my review. read this book at your own risk!

Ok this wasn't my favorite book I have read from this author. I kept hoping the romance would be entertaining enough for me to enjoy the story, but I honestly got bored with it at some points.

This was a unique spin on your typical rom-com. Having met while working at a zombie themed escape room, Nate Kim and Kate Anderson decide to team up to compete in a zombie survival competition. They are hoping to split the grand-prize since they each have a need for the money. When the competition heats up, can Nate and Kate's blooming relationship survive?

Overbearing fathers, jerk jocks and zombies, oh my!
Nate needs money quickly to help his family. Kate needs money to escape her overbearing, unbearable father. Although Nate's offered money to tank his school grades, they decide on a zombie run instead.
This is a sweet, funny read, but some of the story choices hit me a bit oddly. It's a great story until you think about it a bit more deeply, so if you're just looking for a good popcorn read this is the one!
