- Büllying
I don’t know why in bülly romances when the bülly says only he can bülly her, it makes me go gooey inside. I loved how possessive Rome was of Elodie even before anything happened between them. He continued to stand up for her and rescue her even though he blamed her for all the things that went wrong since the incident.
I liked Elodie’s character, she never backed down to anyone and held her own. But then for someone who is so smart she made a lot of dumb decisions that really irked me. She continuously put herself in danger and never really gave it her all into solving who was after her when the information was right in front of her face.
I loved seeing Rome become more sweet, attentive, and vulnerable as his feelings for Elodie started to progress. He didn’t care what anyone thought about him or his relationship with Elodie. I wish we saw more of them coming out as a couple to their siblings and friends, but it was cute seeing them confessing to their parents.
The mystery plot was great because there were so many suspects. In the end it wasn’t really shocking to see who was involved but it was still gripping nonetheless.
The sneak peak into the next book which is based on Wilder and his teacher, who is married to the mayor, who is going up against his dad is wild and I’m so here for it.
If you love a good bülly romance or step-sibling enemies to lovers, I think you’d enjoy this.
Favourite quote:
“… Elodie’s already ripped my heart open, crawled inside it, and made herself a home there. As hard as I’ve tried to get her out and stitch up what’s left of myself, she won’t leave. That’s when I realize I’ve fallen for her. I’ve fallen hard.” - Rome

I'm so happy that I got to read this as an ARC. This book was so great, and I'm a lover of Step-Siblings romances! This author is amazing! The way she added in the perfect amount of suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat, guessing. Wow, I love this book!

Eliody has her life planned out. She's been accepted into Stanford University. One night, while in her mom's hometown, her and her sister go to a party. Eliody gets lost on her way back to the hotel. She finds herself in a park/playground where 3 guys are trying to sexually assault her. A guy comes out of nowhere and saves her by attacking the boys. Eliody runs and calls the law to help her hero out.
A year later, Eliody's mom says she's getting married to her high school sweetheart, and their all moving in with her new husband and his 4 sons in the town of Willow Creek. The same town she was in when she was attacked.
Rome is her new step-brother, and he is set out to make her life a living hell. He had his life planned out as well. Accepted into UCLA with a football scholarship. Now he's benched for half the season of his senior year, watching his twin brother Wilder playing in his spot. His life is ruined, and he blames Eliody for it all. He runs the high school they go to and pretty much blackmail and bully anyone to get his way.
With Eliody in his site and living under the same roof now. She's going to pay for what she's done. Eliody is clueless as to why Rome is after her. And now that she's back in town, she's getting threats, drugged, and sought after by someone who wants to hurt her. The only person she can seek out for help is Rome. The more Rome is around Eliody, the closer they become. When Eliody finds out the truth as to why Rome is after her, she'll do anything to help him out. To try and fix things and make them right. Now they just have to find out who's after her.
This book keeps you on the edge of your seat, trying to guess who is after Eliody. When you think you have it figured out, it's not that person. Plus, you have the football team trying to get into Eliody's pants and making comments to Rome. Rome has got a temper and is mad at the world since his mother died. Can Eliody help him calm out. Oh, the spice is extra spicy between these two. I normally feel weird sometimes reading a romance book about high school teens. I'm imagining these two are 18, even though it didn't state it. Because I would feel really weird reading about younger teens and really spicy banging scenes. Besides that, this book was amazing 👏 🤩

Heartless Monster is Elody and Rome’s story. Rome hates his stepsister Elody because of something that happened in the past, that she is unaware of. They both have lost things important to them and they need to find peace in them. This storyline was full of detail and fast paced, with a little spice and mystery entwined.

I liked this book on the whole. The characters were fab and the story captured me pretty quickly.
I did feel sorry for Rome, having his dream ripped away but I also just wanted him to listen to Elodie, when she tried to explain.
I'm not a fan of miscommunication but I understand it was part of the storyline.
Overall, I really enjoyed it. I haven't come across one of Rachel Leigh's books that I don't like!

I should’ve realized how spicy this was going to be just based on the synopsis, but dang, Rachel Leigh, you did it. Rome and Elodie are both fiery and stubborn, and I love them both. I also love the supportive family and close friends, and I hope more comes out of these characters.

So much more than a bully!
Rachel is the momma to all of the broken boys, no one does it better. This is a whole new world with all new characters and I’m here for it!
Rone is a bully, but he’s so much more, he’s grieving, he’s grieving the loss of his mother, he’s grieving the loss of the only future he had and the minute Elodie comes into his life he sees a target to focus all of his anger on.
I love how Rachel writes a story, every single time she makes me want to dive into these worlds and just hug these kids and help them through.
If you haven’t read Rachel’s books this is the perfect place to start! Don’t miss out on this one, I promise you will love it!
