One dark park at night, one girl’s desperate plea, one dark prince to save the day, and one of many bad decisions may just be the start of the story, but it also sets the tone for the rest.
A night that she will never forget wasn’t in Elodie’s plans when she was in Willow Creek and running into trouble was never on her radar because she is the responsible one, the studious one, and she never thought this would happen to her, but when a mysterious guy steps in to help her she is more than thankful and never thought she would have to deal with this night again. She was very wrong. When Elodie’s mother decides to remarry and move their family to Willow Creek, she wasn’t thrilled and add in the mix new step brothers, she really wasn’t happy, but the hostility rolling off Rome was more than she bargained for.
Rome has been through so much heartbreak in the last year, now with a heart full of anger and resentment he has the perfect target to direct it all to and it’s the girl that ruined it all for him. Rome intends to make Elodie’s life incredibly difficult and the more he tries to ruin her, the more she shows how resilient she really is and when real feelings start to shine through, wrongs made right, and a healing of sorts starts to begin these two start to wonder what feelings are real and what’s not. With someone out there angry at both of them will they be able to set aside their anger to figure out what’s going on?
This story gripped me from the start and I devoured every second of it. It was intense, full of angst, and so many great characters it was easy to fall in love with. So so so good!

When Elodie’s mom goes back to visit her hometown, she takes her daughters; at a party, Elodie and Rome meet, but it is not the last they will see of each other. Elodie’s mom ends up marrying Rome’s dad, which means Elodie has to go back to the town she thought she would never see again and Rome has to live with the girl who ruined his life. It turns out that even more happened on that fateful party night than Elodie experienced. Rome is determined to ruin her life, just like she did his. However, he is the only one who can; no one else can touch her, and he will stop anyone who does. As the two continue to fight, they realize there might be even more to what they are feeling. I love how much of an empathetic Elodie was and could not stand to see him hurt or struggle: she sees more of him than anyone else, especially when she watched him watch his football team from the sidelines. This has everything I love in a stepbrother bully romance. I cannot wait to see what is next for this group.
Oh, Little Elodie, if only she knew the boy she pushed in the pool would end up being one of her stepbrothers who wants to destroy her.
Couldn’t put down!
OMG! I wasn’t sure what to expect but this was sooooo good! TBH I turned into a sack of potatoes and became one with my couch because I totally just read this in one sitting. Literally only taking a break for food because I couldn’t put this down. It starts off a bit intense because its definitely about to go there and ends just as intense. Also am I the only one who immediately screamed and thought of pretty little liars when the name Jenna Marshall came up?! Cannot wait for book two!

One night changed the lives of Rome and Elodie. Fast forward a year later and they are now living under the same roof and are step siblings. Rome blames Elodie for destroying his life and is determined to destroy her.
I really enjoyed this book. The suspense, characters, storyline and spice was all great. Rachel never disappoints with her bully romance books!

Wow. I was excited for this read, but I did not realize just how much I’d come to absolutely love it. I could barely set this book down for breaks. I wanted to keep reading and reading until the very end. 4.5✨
I just have to outright admit I did not expect how much I’d come to love this one. High school storylines aren’t my cup of tea, I prefer my leads much older. Throw in some of the dark-ish romance aspects and this could have been a recipe for a turn off, instead I took Rome’s lead and was obsessed.
I was all in for Elodie and Rome’s chaotic love story. Things start off in a very precarious position between the newly minted step-siblings— there’s much hate from Rome especially. But their forced proximity allows them to see different sides of one another, and the hate dwindles until something far more special erupts. Surrounding their love story was a plot riddled with suspense, which had me at the edge of my seat during its climax.
I only had one singular qualm: feeling the epilogue only established a happily for now, rather than happily ever after. I’m not convinced of the logistics to turn this romance endgame. And I so badly want it endgame! If ever arrives the opportunity for a bonus chapter that takes the reader much further into the leads’ futures, you can count me first in line to read!
I came to care so deeply for Elodie and Rome, and I’m glad I got to know their story.
I definitely encourage readers to pay close attention to the trigger warnings the author provides. She takes great care of readers in her author’s note listing these triggers. This book will not be everyone. To be honest, there’s one item listed that I wasn’t sure in how I’d feel about, and while it’s something I’d still avoid in the future, I’m so glad I kept reading it. This book consumed me in a very, very unexpected way. I’m beyond thrilled I had the opportunity to read it in advance.
Thank you so much Valentine PR!

absolutely loved this!
Elodie is smart and driven and doesn’t take any bull. In the beginning she’s visiting a city her mom was from little did she know going to a party would throw her life into chaos. Her life was turned upside down once her mom married the father of Rome. That boy is super intense and angry. Lord help Elodie as Rome sets out to destroy her. While fighting one another they both are discovering things about one another. There were some great spicy scenes and a mind blowing moment as pieces come together. This book was amazing !

You’ll LOVE this book. When Rome falls, he falls hard for Elodie. And boy, does he have a dirty mouth on him

I love the bully trope.
Also love a good step sibling taboo
Sometimes high school is hit or miss, I feel too old.
I did like the suspense plot lines it had going on tho.
I think if you liked Bully & that series by PD you’d like this as well.
Except this had a football aspect.
