What do you do when the man who saved you just so happens to be the same guy hellbent on making your life miserable? Elodie was in willow creek with her family, she got lost trying to leave a party when she stumbled into a park. That night will live with her forever when three Ravencrest boys tried to have their way with her. But someone was watching out for her when suddenly another guy appeared to save her. One year later and she's now the step sister of Rome Cromwell and he's out for revenge. Can the heartless monster be tamed or will he cause her life to go up in Flames? This was such a fantastic read and I loved elodie. She's fiery and knows what she wants and isn't afraid to stick up for herself even when she's terrified. And Rome is all alpha, but he's definitely got a soft spot in him for his new step sister. The spice was hot and I need more of the characters in this world.
One year ago, Elodie was saved by a stranger after a party. A party where she pushed the star quarterback into the pool in front of everyone. And now…that quarterback is her new stepbrother. And he hates her. Rome is determined to break Elodie because he blames her for losing his spot on the team. But he’s not the only one out to break her. I was lucky enough to read this book early. A bully romance with some twists, I was drawn in from the beginning. As a reminder, always read trigger warnings before reading any book.
There's something about the step-brother teope that does me in. Pair that with Rachel Leigh and it's an automatic must-read.
Rome and Elodie just may be my new favorite Rachel Leigh couple. I absolutely loved them and their undeniable chemistry.
This is 100% a must read. Sidenote: all the character names in this book were fantastic. ❤️
"For just a few mine made me believe he wasn't a heartless monster, o ly to remind me of the kind of person he really is."
"...no girl has ever torn me open and pulled out the raw and real parts inside me the way Elodie has. No one has ever believed in me like she does."
Another 5 star must-read by Rachel Leigh.

One thing I really like about this book was that the MMC wasn’t horrible. Yes they were “enemies” and he was mean but I’ve read worse. He’s redeemable and he does eventually see his mistakes and falls hard for the FMC. And the FMC Elodie isn’t some weak damsel. She stands up for herself and basically doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her. She has a plan for her future and will fight for it.
This book had just the right amount of angst and spice!

A wrong turn. At the wrong park. A night that will change the trajectory of many.
And the words “I owe you one” that will come back to haunt her.
Elodie is a driven young lady. She is meticulous and methodical.
She has her life laid out and planned to a tee. But even the best laid out plans can go askew.
Rome is ruler of his school. The star quarterback and rising star.
Girls fall at his feet. Guys want to be him. He has it all. Until he doesn’t.
Rome and El both have big plans and big dreams. They are driven and motivated.
And polar opposite in almost every other aspects of their lives.
But somehow it works. They fit together. And bring balance to one another.
The story has lots of suspense and drama. Some scenes had me on the edge of my seat.
Elodie and Rome’s push and pull kept things moving.
And their fine line between hate love was intense.
While Heartless Monsters does have an ending. Which I liked.
The author drops tidbits that have me wondering if there is more to come from another family member. I certainly hope so because that would be a book I would without a doubt read.

The prologue ALONE had me turning the pages as quickly as I can read!
This was a little different than what I normally read and I am not disappointed! The main characters’ chemistry was so powerful. Like, yeah- they’re step siblings but they’re virtually strangers living together.
