In a nutshell this is a sweet, well written, easy to read, high-school romance with a slightly taboo side and some spice.
There's also some enemies to lovers drama between the MCs which results in a HEA.
With it being High-school age kids, I found the drama to be very immature, but that tracks with the age of their characters.
Unfortunately (for me) I found the storyline a little too predictable and overall the book isn't to my tastes, but that's personal preference.
If you like high-school bully tropes with a side of spice and a pinch of taboo- give it a try!

Enemies to lovers made into step siblings. The story starts with Elodi taking a wrong turn while walking home and getting herself in a bad situation. She is saved by someone who face she can’t see. Rome saves her but he ends up charged with assault causing him loads of problems. The story unfolds from there as they find out their parents have been secretly dating and are to be married.

It’s a wild ride! If you love a good bully romance, slow burn, and some extra spicy scenes this is the book for you! 🔥
It was such a fun read, and I truly don’t want to say much more. I recommend going in this book blind because it truly added to my experience.
I can’t wait to read more by Rachel Leigh!

Rome and Elodie started off on the wrong foot. It was so bad but Elodie wasn’t a pushover. But there was no hiding the attraction they felt and his disgust towards Elodie was worse after she became his new stepsister. I’m not going to spoil but these two had so much going on and Elodie had no clue why Rome acted like that towards her. One day things shifted between them and there was no hiding the chemistry and Elodie promised Rome to make things right after she found out why he despised her in the past. Then things got scary and Rome risked everything again for Elodie. It was a great flow and great story with unexpected twists. Their siblings added to the dynamics to the story.
Another new to me author, this book has hooked me from the beginning. Elodie got herself into something that unbeknownst to her, Rome helped her out of and now because of it, things haven't been going his way.
He's making Elodie's life very difficult! This is a true Bully/ Enemies to Lovers romance. Rome is ruthless. He's so angry, not just at Elodie, but at everyone, at life it seems. Rachel has managed to write some great characters. In the beginning, you feel like Rome doesn't have any redeemable qualities, but then he'll do something that tips the scales back in his favour. Elodie is the bookworm. All she wants to do is keep her head down, not draw attention and finish school. Unfortunately that does not happen. what i like about her character, is that when she does draw unwanted attention she handles it like a pro. She doesn't let Rome or anyone get to her and responds with such wit and sarcasm that you can't help but smile. The side characters are just as good. We see some of the siblings quite a bit, with them being close in age and the friends we also get to meet have been interesting.
What I also like about this story is that while Elodie had no idea why Rome was so angry and despised her so much in the beginning, Elodie was doing what she could to help Rome move forward. Things come to the boiling point and everything clicks into place. I believe this was the turning point for them.
Rome started slowly thawing toward her and I thought him being called out on his behaviour by those close to him was good. We got to see him start to think about his decisions and realise that he really didn’t want to hate Elodie. Once he had made this decision, he was a different person with her. Their spicy scenes were so good and were written really well.
Elodie and Rome started working together then to start figuring out what was going on (I don’t want to really elaborate too much as I don’t want to give too much of the story away it is too good!)
Toward the end, was full of angst and suspense and I felt like I was sitting on the edge of my seat with what was happening! The little twist in there did get me! I wasn’t actually expecting that connection!
Overall, this was an enjoyable story that held my interest, I did finish this in one sitting. My one gripe was I would have liked to have seen them into the future. However having said this, I feel like there is a story there with Wilder so I am hoping we get to see more of these characters!
I will definitely be looking up more from this author!

I've been looking forward to this book so much. Rachel Leigh can write college and bully romances so well. The fear and suspense are so good that you'll be on the edge of your seat the entire time.
I thought this was a bit lighter than other stories of hers. But certainly not less good!
Elodie and Rome meet at a party. He acts arrogant and she very feisty. When he saves her (without her knowing) she says: I owe you! And she can certainly take that literally.
After the events of that one evening, Rome has been shattered for the rest of his life. When it turns out that Elodie will be his new stepsister, he is out for revenge!
This is such a good story, everything is there: stepsiblings, enemies-to-lovers, bully, revenge, he falls first, he hates her but always saves her, virgin, all her firsts, ...
I gave it 4.5 stars because I thought the ending was a bit rushed. It could have been a few chapters longer. I missed some closure.

An enemies to lovers step sibling romance
Rome intent on getting revenge on Elodie since his football career went up in flames, finds out she is his new stepsister.
He vowed to make her pay, bullying her at home and at school, until the attraction starts to build and he finds himself jealous and possessive of his new stepsister “Freckles”.

i actually really enjoyed this book. and i wasn’t expecting to like it so much because i’ve been reading a few not-so-enjoyable books lately.
i love the characters and everything about them. they were smart and capable and they had so many layers that made them morally grey, i loved it.
the plot was really good, cause it didn’t focus on just romance. it had a little mystery in it too, which i liked. i would’ve loved it if the mystery went on for longer, but it was the sub genre of the book. i wasn’t expecting the mystery, honestly, but it was still fun and it really spiced things up.
i loved the way the enemies to lovers was done. since this was a step sibling romance, i think i expected more of the secret relationship trope which had to have some people against it. there was barely any of that, so it felt a little incomplete to me.
but other than that, i loved it.
