Grapefruit can be rather hit or miss. Some of the poems were incredibly interesting while others were quite dry and dull. That being said, the entire book is worth it just to get a better look into the mind of Yoko Ono, a figure whose work and individuality has been almost entirely ignored due to her relationship with John Lennon. I'm not going to rate this because I'm not really sure how to assign a numerical value to poetry.

I had never realized how random and passionate some artists can be. Yoko Ono is one of them astonished me in the most shattering way possible. Some of her writings are profound. It was a good break from a regular book that has characters , a solid subject/plot and content. It opened up an entirely new approach to art and thought.

Great cookbook for artistic stimulation and idea generation.

The latter part of the book is more instructions for happenings and drawings that overlap with Lennon's doodles in style. But the first 80% are more instruction-poems and those are the best!

I wanted to love this book — I love Ono’s art and generally am a big fan of absurdist poetry. But this just didn’t do it for me personally. It was okay. Not bad, not good, just… okay. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from reading it, but I wouldn’t actively recommend it either.
