I'm not used to reading non-fiction, but this was a light, engaging read! I enjoyed learning about the journey and introspection, and even more so about his life and past.

Consider me an unreliable reviewer. I don’t know if you can really trust my five star rating on this book. I am a huge Outlander/Sam Heughan fangirl, so take from it what you will. I will suggest, however, that you listen to the audio version, because there is a lot of extra live sidebar dialogue included.
Description
Journey deep into the Scottish Highlands in the first memoir by #1 New York Times bestselling author and award-winning star of Outlander, Sam Heughan—exploring his life and reflecting on the waypoints that define him
"I had to believe, because frankly, I had come so far there could be no turning back."
In this intimate journey of self-discovery, Sam sets out along Scotland's rugged ninety-six-mile West Highland Way to map out the moments that shaped his views on dreams and ambition, family, friendship, love, and life. The result is a love letter to the wild landscape that means so much to him, full of charming, funny, wise, and searching insights into the world through his eyes.
Waypoints is a deeply personal journey that reveals as much about Sam to himself as it does to his readers.

Loved this autobiography and hiking story! Not normally into these kind of books but love Outlander and Sam's portrayal of Jamie and the book was so enjoyable! Especially his narration! 5 million stars for the narration I highly recommend the audiobook! Loved hearing about his Steiner education and his long road into making it as an actor and my favourite moment was the chats and the selfies with the mushrooms🤣🍄🙌

I really enjoyed this memoir and I loved the vulnerability it had. I did however lose interest near the end. Definitely would suggest audiobook!
This is a wonderful book! Although it's a personal story it almost feels like a beautiful piece of fiction. I love learning about the acting opportunities he's been able to enjoy, but also the humaness of finding joy in the small things in life like a cup of coffee, finding mushrooms on a hike and sleeping in a warm dry bed. Sam's delivery is also stunning - authentic, warm and genuine. Highly recommend!

I honestly wasn’t sure how much I would actually enjoy this book. Of course I got it because I love Outlander and I was a huge fan of Men in Kilts. I found myself genuinely so interested in this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it all.
