I really enjoyed listening to this book. I started reading it because I was watching outlander. One side of my family is from Scotland and I’ve been wanting to visit for awhile. This book was really awesome to listen to while I was walking because a decent amount of it is Sam describing his walk. I think he’s a great writer and the book has made me want to walk the West Highland Way. I could see myself listening to this again sometime.

I have very mixed feelings about this book.

It felt a little all over the place, one minute we are taking a walk through the west highland way and the next we are back in Sam’s past. The book jumped back and forth a lot and while I found humour in his journey, I am not entirely sure why the telling  of his walk in such detail was necessary.

I did however love hearing about Sam’s journey to become an actor and the struggles he faced, making him the delightful man he is today.

The audiobook was also a delightful way to listen to this book

Read for a book club. The audiobook experience was delightful, as the author reads his own work. It felt sincere, and humorous at times. Overall enjoyed chit-chatting with my book club about it!
