This was my first audio book I have ever listened to and it was definitely worth taking the time to listen to Sams story! There were many times that I laughed out loud at how he read the story and I overall really just enjoyed the way the book was presented. I feel like I have a better understanding of who Sam is as a person now and it gives me a better perspective of one of my favorite actors.

Having loved Outlander and Jamie Frasier, I set out reading this expecting to love Sam's journey along the West Highland Way. While there were moments that I really got sucked into, there were many others where it felt like the book haphazardly jumped between the current moment and past reflections (perhaps this is easier to discern in the written text rather than narration?). Even still, was nice to join the trail alongside Sam for a bit.
A truly captivating memoir, that had me hooked from the very first page until even after finishing it. Sam is so open, honest, raw and emotional about his journey through life whilst he journey's through the Highlands in a spur of the moment hike, in which he is challenged to the max.
Finished it within a day and a half, because I just couldn't get enough of it. Loved the back and forth between the hiking experiences and him telling about his youth, his struggles as a beginning actor and what happened to him when he was finally casted for a bigger role, as Jamie Fraser in Outlander.

Sam Heughan is underrated as an actor and is a naturally gifted comedian, this book was a blast to listen to, read by Sam Heughan himself
