Love Sam! His journey on this epic hike, and through life, was a great read!

In this memoir, we follow Sam as he spontaneously decides to tackle the West Higland Way, a popular walking trail that crosses Scotland from east to west. His decription of his journey from one waypoint to another is interspersed with memories of his childhood and the challenges faced along the path to finding success in his chosen field.

It was interesting to read about the challenges Sam faced as he attempted to make a carreer of acting. It was not an easy journey by any means, but one that was rewarded after a lot of hard work, struggle and even pain. Much like the walking journey he undertakes that is challenging both mentally and physically, but rewards those who persevere. It made me want to book a flight to Scotland and strap on some hiking boots and walk the Way myself. However, I don't think it is a challenge I would undertake with Sam's spontaneity!

I love Sam Heughan and enjoyed reading his memoir. I don’t normally read nonfiction so this book was a big change for me.
While Sam is hiking the west highland way (96 miles from north of Glasgow to Fort William), he not only describes the amazing journey in vivid detail but he also shares his past life struggles as an actor, and his search for life purposes.
