tbh this would be a 5 star read for me if it weren't for the couple of weird race stuff (apparently some schools in america used to have slave days? i read some articles about it bc of this book.)

idk this really captured the feeling of being a teenage girl to me lol. i didnt grow up in the 80s, so the nostalgia didn't do a lot for me, but it was still easy to connect with these girls.

my parents are also religious, and crazy strict, so i found that aspect of gretchen's character very relatable.

this isnt the scariest book in the world, but it's so full of friendship. i love my friends. being a teenager sucked.

This book was meh for me the whole time. I just couldn't really get into it but I was trying to stick it out. What really did me in was what I assume was about to be animal cruelty. I say "assume" because I stopped the audio right before something could happen because I didnt want to hear it. Maybe nothing would have happened but I was not in the mood to find out when I barely wanted to finish the book anyway. Disappointing to say the least because I loved Final Girl Support Group a lot

I love you dearly and I love you queerly and no demon is bigger than this! (istg if the adaptation doesn't lean into this angle more i don't know what we're doing as a society)
