Sort of well written, but a lot of people realising (actually realizing, despite other correct British spellings), suddenly knowing, and things occuring to people, that got very repetitive. And not a redeeming character in sight. Not because they're all awful, they're just all so bloody beige and utterly incapable of inspiring any investment.

I chose this book purely because it was called Long Island. I didn’t realize that most of the book was set in Ireland or that it was a sequel.
It started out slow and a little far-fetched
(who drops a baby off on a doorstep in real life?)
, but by the middle I was intrigued. Aside from the
baby on the doorstep
I thought that the actions of the characters were realistic. The indecision and internal struggles were relatable, and the ending
felt right, in an unromantic/pragmatic sort of way
.

As many sequels, it wasn't great. It didn't really dive into why Tony cheated after all of these years and the ending was abrupt in an attempt to keep the reader guessing. Some of the plot movements felt forced and almost unrealistic - unlike Brooklyn.
