I have mixed feelings about Bash. I like him, but he’s a lot. And I get that this is part of his charm!

Then, I also found this prolonged miscommunication trope to be very annoying and calculated. Authors like Ella frank do this in all her books and this reminded me why I stopped reading them. Admittedly this is a good story, and I love their chemistry. I love seeing Kieran figure things out. He’s such a wonderful character and I feel for him.

After reading these books I’m thinking of exploring the Chicago verse!

Sweet, emotional, funny, and full of steam, the Dare to Try trilogy is turning out to be my favorite co-written series by Ella and Brooke.

Kieran Bailey may be a firefighter, which is hot all by itself, but aside from his hot profession (I love puns) he's also endearing, has his moments of adorableness, and is my favorite of the Bailey brothers, especially when Sean, his older brother is razzing him. Did I mention Kieran is adorable? While he came to grips about his attraction to Bash, it's Bash who ran when he began to feel something for the lieutenant.

Kieran didn't sit idly by when Bash returned to Georgia. Walking into Bash's world, he meets his friends, takes his first vacation in, well Kieran doesn't really remember, but getting to know the man who had enamored him back in Chicago while on Bash's home turf only solidifies the feelings he'd been feeling even more, but could it work in the long term? Vacations have to end some time, but could they make a relationship work long distance?

Bash is beautiful and fun, a perfect match to Kieran's more straightlaced ways (more puns, LOL). Bash brings out a playful side to Kieran, a normal workaholic, and Kieran protects Bash, even from himself, a man who looks out for everyone else, but himself. I love how these two wouldn't seem like a good fit on paper, but they fill in each others spaces so perfectly, if only they could find out how to make their relationship work long term.

I'm very excited to see how the puzzle will all fit together in the final book of this trilogy. I've fallen in love with Bash and Kieran and cannot wait to see how it all plays out in the end.

I enjoyed getting more of Kieran & Bash. They really are great together and I love their connection and how strong it is. They have great chemistry and fit together despite how different they are. But I honestly felt like the plot here was a bit lacking. I am excited to see how things end up but I don't think this series needs 3 books.

Where do I start? What went wrong here? I don’t know. I don’t know what I expected but this was most definitely not how I imagined book two to be. I understand Nark’s review much better after having read the book.><

So many cringe moments, yeah?

- Fireman’s pole
- Love in two weeks
- Mayor and firechief(seriously?) fantasy
- Sex sex and sex all the time

After drunk-deciding a flight to South Haven, Kieran spots the man he went in search for on a random beach(because yeah that happens under fate). He gets pissed, they leave for Bash’s home, where he doses off. They discuss everything the next day, and kiss and make up. They go for an outing every now and then, come back home, have sex. I didn’t even notice the first week’s end, I skimmed along that much. This was kinda like a cycle. Same over and over. Then they finally decide to “talk”, because man, talking about the big elephant in the room was so damn hard, when they could just get horny and have fun.

I have a huge meh look pasted on my face right now. Seriously don’t know where this is heading. I didn’t read through the last few chapters so I might have some difficulty getting into book three, but hey, I’d rather not go through book two ever again.

Happy with where this is going. Still hating the abrupt endings but since I have book three already, it's less of a hardship than it could be. Kind of annoyed that we don't get to learn more about Bash's life/past, though. Seems like either he's still keeping it under wraps or it's just not being shared with the reader.

This was missing the chemistry & tension that the first book had. Without that I was pretty much bored
